Is it planned to build up a driver infraststructure like nVidia or ATi?

S3 Graphics has been providing commercial quality drivers to support our OEM customers which have included companies like IBM and Toshiba.

We have a comprehensive driver development infastructure - focusing more on stablity and compatiblity.

DeltaChrome is supported by unified driver set which will cover DeltaChrome and future products.

I hope this answers your question.

Will there be a Linux Driver for the new deltachrome based chips?
If YES: Will it be a binary-only-driver or opensource or "mixed" (for example: kernelmodule opensource, 2d-driver opensource, 3d-driver binary-only) ?
Which features will the driver expose? (all / which subset in comparison to windows-driver)
Which architectures will be supported? (x86, x86_64, ppc)

Or will there be Documentation available to some people to write a driver?

When will all this happen?

Yes we do have Linux drivers for DeltaChrome.
I believe they will be mixed open source - we'll get details for you.

Thanks,
Nadeem
