WinRAR 3.70 veröffentlicht

Nach zahlreichen Beta-Versionen ist der Allround-Packer WinRAR nun als finale Version 3.70 veröffentlicht worden. Die umfangreichen Release Notes finden sich u.a. im <a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=3197866#post3197866">Kommentar-Thread</a> dieser News oder natürlich auf der <a href="http://www.rarlabs.com/rarnew.htm" target="b">WinRAR-Homepage</a>.

Derzeit steht nur die englisch-sprachige Version zum Download bereit. Im Gegensatz zu früheren Versionen hostet RARLAB den Download dieses Mal nicht selbst, statt dessen ist WinRAR 3.70 über CNet zu beziehen.

<li><font face="courier new">Added support for ISO 13346 (UDF) file format. This format is frequently used in ISO images of DVD disks.</font></li>
<li><font face="courier new">Added Unicode support for ISO 9660 files, so WinRAR should handle non-English file names in .iso files better.</font></li>
<li><font face="courier new">Design changes in window displaying archiving and extraction progress:<br><br>a) it provides more space for file names, allowing lengthy names;<br><br>b) it displays the current archive name in separate line, allowing much longer archive names than before;<br><br>c) when archiving, it displays the current compression ratio in separate line;<br><br>d) it can use both standard Windows and classic WinRAR progress bars. <li><font face="courier new">GUI self-extracting modules do not pass the entire command line to setup program like they did in previous versions. If you need to get access to entire command line of SFX archive, parse sfxcmd environment variable which contains this command line.</font></li>
<li><font face="courier new">New switch -sc[objects] allowing to select character sets for archive comments and list files. It replaces -fcu switch introduced in RAR 3.60, which was removed from list of supported switches. Now you need to specify -scuc instead of -fcu to use Unicode comments. Unlike -fcu, -sc also supports OEM and ANSI charset.</font></li>
<li><font face="courier new">New "Save archive copy as..." command in "File" menu. This command may be useful if you opened an archive from Internet directly in WinRAR and then decided to save it on local disk.</font></li>
<li><font face="courier new">"Word wrap" command added to "View" menu of WinRAR internal viewer, so you can change the wrapping mode of already opened viewer window.<br><br>State of this option is not stored between viewing sessions. Schön, dass die 3.70 fertig ist - mal sehen, wieviele Wochen es dauert bis die deutsche Version verfügbar ist.

Jetzt bitte noch eine 64Bit Fassung,
nachdem ich gesehen habe wie 7zip unter Vista 64Bit und 4GB abging.

die inoffizielle übersetzung von michael leimer dürfte wahrscheinlich relativ zeitnah erscheinen, ganz im gegensatz zur offiziellen deutschen version.

Ich habe noch nie in meinem Leben ein anderes Packprogramm außer WinRAR und WinACE benutzt. Sollte ich?

PS: WinRAR Trial? Ich dachte, das Prog ist kostenlos. Ist WinACE auch nur Shareware?

Nach 30 tagen Nutzung sollte WinRAR dir was pfeifen von wegen kostenlos. Ansonsten hast du deine Version nicht auf dem offiziellen Wege bezogen *g

WinRAR ist klar komfortabler, in jeder Hinsicht. Aber es komprimiert leider nicht so stark wie 7Zip es kann. Dafür kann man schöner Selbstextrahierende Archive erstellen. Wird aber halt mit der Sharewaremeldung genervt.

Ich bin immer noch unentschlossen, nutze im Moment aber erfolgreich 7Zip.

Hö? Ich hatte noch nie irgendeine Sharewaremeldung bei WinRAR. Kann es daran liegen, dass ich die Packprogramme immer nur mit "Rechtsklick->entpacken nach..." usw. benutze und nie das Hauptprogramm ansich starte?

Edit: Ja, wenn ich das Hauptprogramm starte, steht da, dass das Programm nach 40 Tagen abläuft. Aber diese Meldung habe ich noch nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Wozu sollte man auch das Hauptprogramm starten Mit dem Rechtsklickmenü kann man doch alles machen.

Ich glaube dir

Aber ich öffne Zips immer wieder aus dem Browser oder Downloadmanager heraus. Und da kommt halt schon das Hauptrprogramm.

Klasse wäre ein Script. Runterladen -> In Downloadordner entpacken oder so.

Ja, auch WinACE ist nur Shareware.

Shareware. Ich hab WinRAR vor einiger Zeit gekauft weil es einfach praktisch ist und alle moeglichen Formate zumindest ENTpackt. Kostet so $29 oder $39... weiss nicht mehr lol. Wenn du nur ENTpackst ist es glaub ich garnicht noetig ne Lizenz zu erwerben - deswegen auch kein Popup.
