Der norwegische Entwickler Opera Software hat eine neue Version (9.22) des gleichnamigen alternativen Webbrowsers veröffentlicht. Opera wird seit September 2005 kostenlos und frei von Werbung angeboten (<a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/cgi-bin/newspub/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1127214039">wir berichteten</a>).

Jep, vor allem auf Linux kommt Opera leider nicht an die Qualität der Windows-Builds ran. Manchmal stürzt er beim Mails holen ab, manchmal beim benutzen eines Plugins (Flash z.B.), manchmal einfach so.Schön wärs. Ab und zu schmiert mir Opera auch mal ab...

Zum Glück passiert es jedoch nicht sehr oft und alle Seiten mit ihrer History sind beim Neustart ja wieder wie vorher, deswegen ist das nur ein kleiner Schwachpunkt.
Opera ist und bleibt für mich der beste Browser + Mailclient (+ Mailinglistenverwalter) + Newsreader + RSS-Client, einfach weil die Vorteile dermassen überwiegen.
*edit*: Und für Opera 9.5 oder spätestens 10.0 wurde uns ja deutlicher Geschwindigkeitsgewinn gegenüber den jetzigen Linux-Builds versprochen. Bin mal gespannt, ob sie das versprechen einhalten können.

Ja, stimmt genau. Ob es grundsätzlich so war kann ich nicht genau sagen. Wobei ich mitlerweile auf FoxIt umgestiegen binKleine Frage zum Adobe-Reader-Plugin (8.1): Wird Opera (Win) bei Euch auch träge bzw. bleibt mitunter vollkommen hängen, wenn Ihr PDFs eingebettet anzeigt?

Bis jetzt keinen Absturz, schon mal ein Grund zur Freude.Schön wärs. Ab und zu schmiert mir Opera auch mal ab...
Die letzte Version hat mich als erste (!) genervt.
PDF laufen bei mir auch extern in Foxit, aber das wollte ja keiner hören
