AMD Athlon II X4: 4 Kerne, 45 Watt, ab 90 Euro (Quelle: Au-Ja! )

AMD Athlon II X4 620 & 630: The First $99 Quad Core CPU (Quelle: AnandTech )

"AMD effectively knocked 40% off the value of Intel's low end quad-core CPUs. The Athlon II X4 620 manages to, at $99, perform close enough to the Core 2 Quad Q8200 that the latter simply doesn't make any sense. Add another hundred dollars and you'll get a Core i5 750 (or less will get you into a Phenom II X4 945/955), but if you're on a strict budget you can't beat the 620.

The 630 I'm less excited about simply because it commands a 22% price premium. What the 620 has going for it is its sub-$100 entry price; start going much above that then you might as well be looking at a Phenom II X3. "

AMD Athlon II X4 620 review (Quelle: Guru3D )

"The bottom line is that the AMD product range oozes with value relative to performance and this Athlon II X4 series is living and breathing proof of that. Sure this will not be the fastest quad-core processor series on the block, it will however be more than sufficient and offers true value for money. Twenty-five USD per core... just think about it, it makes a whole lot of sense to us. Yeah, props to Propus."

AMD Athlon II X4 Debut: Enter The $99 Quad-Core (Quelle: HotHardware )

"The new quad-core AMD Athlon II X4 processors performed very well, especially given their relatively low price points. Despite its lack of L3 cache, the new Propus core used in the Athlon II X4s perform extremely well compared to their full-fledged Deneb-based siblings. Comparatively, the new Athlon II X4 processors are also very competitive with Intel's low-end quad-core offerings. However, gaming performance suffered due to the lack of L3 cache. Overall though, the Athlon II X4 processors are surprisingly good performers. "

AMD Athlon II X4 620 and 630: introducing the budget quad-core CPUs (Quelle: HEXUS.net )

"What AMD has done is bring significant parallel processing within the reach of a larger percentage of the computer-buying population. That's a good thing for both the company and the industry, and we're eager to see how Intel will respond. A dual-core chip with integrated graphics is in the pipeline, known as Clarkdale, but, for now, the Athlon II X4 620 and 785G chipset combination is hard to ignore as a base for a (relatively) budget Windows 7 PC build."

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor Review - Quad-Core for Mainstream (Quelle: TweakTown )

"AMD Athlon II is a cheap overclocking CPU that really isn't worth it at stock, the real gem of this CPU is the ability to overclock. If you're going to stick only to stock clock speeds go with the Phenom II, but for overclocking take the Athlon II and clock it through the roof. "
