Why your clients don’t get WUs on a 24/7 basis?
Our goal is to deploy thousands of active probes primarily in distinct networks in order to measure the Internet infrastructure in real time.
To archive this goal, a small number of probes in each distinct network are more than enough.
From now on, in order to limit bandwidth demanding, we will be limiting WUs attribution based on your host location and the number of probes deploy in your network.
Update:
A host may start a new WU if:
- There have been less than 5 WUs run in the last slot period (15m) in your network (on a prefix basis)
- There have been less than 10 WUs run in the last slot period (15m) in your network (on an autonomous system (AS) basis).
With these set of rules, we are promoting a homogeneous distribution of the probes all over the Internet.
If you have a specific network configuration, new prefixes, or you think there is an error with your prefixes/AS propagation, please send me a PM.
