<div class="newsfloatleft"><a href="http://pidgin.im/"><img src="http://www.planet3dnow.de/photoplog/images/54308/1_Pidgin.png" border="1" alt="Pidgin"></a></div>Der freie Multiprotokoll-Messenger Pidgin wurde in der Version 2.10.0 veröffentlicht. Das Programm unterstützt grundsätzlich die Chat-Protokolle von AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, und Zephyr - weitere stehen über Plugins zur Verfügung. Aktuell werden 70 Sprachen unterstützt.

Pidgin läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000, Mac OS X ab 10.4 und Linux. Für Ubuntu ist Pidgin via PPA verfügbar. Bislang ist die Version 2.10 für Windows nur als Source verfügbar. Wer das Programm nicht selbst kompilieren will, muss noch auf Version 2.09 zurückgreifen. Dies wird sich sicherlich demnächst ändern, der Downloadlink wird dann entsprechend angepasst.<p style="clear:left">
