Sunnyvale, CA — March 2, 2016 — AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced that CGG, a pioneering global geophysical services and equipment company, has deployed AMD FirePro™ S9150 server GPUs to accelerate its geoscience oil and gas research efforts, harnessing more than 1 PetaFLOPS of GPU processing power. Employing AMD’s HPC GPU Computing software tools available on GPUOpen.com, CGG rapidly converted its in-house Nvidia CUDA code to OpenCL™ for seismic data processing running on an AMD FirePro™ S9150 GPU production cluster, enabling fast, cost-effective GPU-powered research.

Das klingt nach mindestens 200 GPU's in SP- oder 400 in DP-Perfomance.
Das wär ja gerademal ein Umsatz von 600.000€ (SP) bzw. 1.200.000€ (DP) für den Boardpartner. Ist für AMD nicht viel, aber immerhin wieder etwas am Servermarkt "bewegt".
Vermutlich trägt die "Boltzmann-Initiative" (?) jetzt Früchte, da jene ja CUDA auf Radeon übersetzen soll.
Das wär ja gerademal ein Umsatz von 600.000€ (SP) bzw. 1.200.000€ (DP) für den Boardpartner. Ist für AMD nicht viel, aber immerhin wieder etwas am Servermarkt "bewegt".
