This new model will be the suc\u00adces\u00adsor to the SX-ACE<\/span> super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter. With this next-gene\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon vec\u00adtor machi\u00adne, NEC<\/span> aims to achie\u00adve a rack per\u00adfor\u00admance that is more than 10 times grea\u00adter than the cur\u00adrent model, and a maxi\u00admum sys\u00adtem per\u00adfor\u00admance that is more than 100 times grea\u00adter, resul\u00adting in an impro\u00adve\u00adment of pro\u00adces\u00adsing per\u00adfor\u00admance to tens of petaflops.<\/p>\n

NEC<\/span> aims to levera\u00adge the know-how and tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies achie\u00adved through the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of the SX-ACE<\/span> in order to redu\u00adce power and space con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon, ther\u00adeby enab\u00adling a signi\u00adfi\u00adcant impro\u00adve\u00adment in ope\u00adra\u00adting effi\u00adci\u00aden\u00adcy. Spe\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adcal\u00adly, the com\u00adpa\u00adny aims to deve\u00adlop a super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter that con\u00adsu\u00admes less than 10% of the power of the cur\u00adrent model and takes up less than 1\/30 of the space. The pre\u00advious super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter requi\u00adred the same amount of space as a mee\u00adting room for appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adate\u00adly 10 peo\u00adp\u00adle. In con\u00adtrast, the com\u00adpact size of the new super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter allows users to install it in loca\u00adti\u00adons as small as the area of an office desk. Elec\u00adtric power cos\u00adts will also be less than 10% of tho\u00adse for the cur\u00adrent model.<\/p>\n

In addi\u00adti\u00adon, NEC<\/span> plans to offer a full lin\u00ade\u00adup of next-gene\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon vec\u00adtor super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adters. This lin\u00ade\u00adup will offer a wide ran\u00adge of per\u00adfor\u00admance opti\u00adons for various appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons, such as use by indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal rese\u00adar\u00adchers or use at data cen\u00adters that pro\u00adcess lar\u00adge volu\u00admes of data.
