Ab sofort k\u00f6n\u00adnen auch die Codecs H.265 und <span class=\"caps\">VP8<\/span> f\u00fcr die Enko\u00addie\u00adrung von Vide\u00ados ver\u00adwen\u00addet wer\u00adden, wobei Hand\u00adBra\u00adke auf die Enco\u00adder x265 bzw. libv\u00adpx zur\u00fcck\u00adgreift. x265 basiert in Tei\u00adlen auf dem bekann\u00adten x264-Enco\u00adder, der eben\u00adfalls von Hand\u00adBra\u00adke bei der Erstel\u00adlung von H.264-Videos Anwen\u00addung fin\u00addet, und befin\u00addet sich noch in einem recht fr\u00fc\u00adhen Ent\u00adwick\u00adlungs\u00adsta\u00addi\u00adum. Au\u00dfer\u00addem haben die Ent\u00adwick\u00adler Unter\u00adst\u00fct\u00adzung f\u00fcr Intels Quick\u00adSync hin\u00adzu\u00adge\u00adf\u00fcgt, sodass sich H.264-Videos unter Win\u00addows sehr ener\u00adgie\u00adef\u00adfi\u00adzi\u00adent mit Hil\u00adfe des Hard\u00adware-Enco\u00adders ent\u00adspre\u00adchend aus\u00adge\u00adr\u00fcs\u00adte\u00adter Intel-CPUs erstel\u00adlen las\u00adsen. \u00dcber die DXVA-Schnitt\u00adstel\u00adle von Win\u00addows kann schon seit eini\u00adgen Ver\u00adsio\u00adnen der Hard\u00adware-Deko\u00adder in moder\u00adnen GPUs (<span class=\"caps\">AMD<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">UVD<\/span>, Intel Quick\u00adSync oder <span class=\"caps\">NVIDIA<\/span> PureVi\u00addeo) bei der Trans\u00adko\u00addie\u00adrung ver\u00adwen\u00addet wer\u00adden, um die <span class=\"caps\">CPU<\/span> zu ent\u00adlas\u00adten. Aller\u00addings befin\u00addet sich die\u00adses Fea\u00adture noch in einem expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adtel\u00adlen Sta\u00addi\u00adum, wes\u00adhalb es im Men\u00fc expli\u00adzit akti\u00adviert wer\u00adden muss. Des Wei\u00adte\u00adren wur\u00adde in Zusam\u00admen\u00adar\u00adbeit mit <span class=\"caps\">AMD<\/span> ein Open\u00adCL-Frame\u00adwork erar\u00adbei\u00adtet, was der\u00adzeit nur unter Win\u00addows zur Anwen\u00addung kom\u00admen kann, um neben dem Stan\u00addard\u00adska\u00adlie\u00adrungs\u00adfil\u00adter Lan\u00adc\u00adzos einen wei\u00adte\u00adren Fil\u00adter anbie\u00adten zu k\u00f6n\u00adnen. Der umge\u00adsetz\u00adte BiCu\u00adbic-Fil\u00adter nutzt f\u00fcr die Berech\u00adnun\u00adgen die <span class=\"caps\">GPU<\/span> \u00fcber die Open\u00adCL-Schnitt\u00adstel\u00adle, befin\u00addet sich aber noch im Beta-Sta\u00addi\u00adum. To high\u00adlight a&nbsp;few:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b> Encoders&nbsp;<\/b><br>\nWe are intro\u00addu\u00adcing seve\u00adral new enco\u00adders with this release and repla\u00adcing others.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li>Intel Quick\u00adSync&nbsp;Video<br>\nis a hard\u00adware based H.264 enco\u00adder that is available on Intel CPUs. Curr\u00adent\u00adly, <span class=\"caps\">QSV<\/span> is only sup\u00adport\u00aded on Win\u00addows but we hope to bring this to Linux users in the future. Thanks to the good peo\u00adp\u00adle at Intel for making this possible!<\/li>\n<li>H.265<br>\nis now available through x265 1.4. While this enco\u00adder is still fair\u00adly new, we have seen some pro\u00admi\u00adsing results come out of it. It\u2019s still under hea\u00advy acti\u00adve deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment and is only going to impro\u00adve over&nbsp;time!<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"caps\">VP8<\/span><br>\nusing the libv\u00adpx enco\u00adder. We have now depre\u00adca\u00adted Theo\u00adra (<span class=\"caps\">VP3<\/span>) in favour of <span class=\"caps\">VP8<\/span> which is a more modern enco\u00adder offe\u00adring bet\u00adter qua\u00adli\u00adty encodes at lower file&nbsp;sizes.<\/li>\n<li>Lib\u00adFaac<br>\nHas now offi\u00adci\u00adal\u00adly been remo\u00adved due to <span class=\"caps\">GPL<\/span> com\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty issues, and repla\u00adced with the libav <span class=\"caps\">AAC<\/span> enco\u00adder as the new default for Win\u00addows and Linux. In addi\u00adti\u00adon, we have added the <span class=\"caps\">FDK<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">AAC<\/span> enco\u00adder for Win\u00addows and Linux as a optio\u00adnal com\u00adpi\u00adle-time opti\u00adon. The Mac release will con\u00adti\u00adnue to use CoreAu\u00addio as the default.<\/li>\n<li>As usu\u00adal, we\u2019\u00adve updated a num\u00adber of the core libra\u00adri\u00ades inclu\u00adding x264 and&nbsp;libav<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b> Fil\u00adters and Scalers&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li>Denoi\u00adse<br>\nThe new NLMe\u00adans fil\u00adter offers much hig\u00adher qua\u00adli\u00adty denoi\u00adsing. Our pre\u00advious fil\u00adter, hqdn3d, now accepts indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal set\u00adtings for each of the chro\u00adma chan\u00adnels (Cb,&nbsp;Cr).<\/li>\n<li>Open\u00adCL Scaling<br>\nIn addi\u00adti\u00adon to the default Lan\u00adc\u00adzos sca\u00adling algo\u00adrithm, Hand\u00adBra\u00adke now offers BiCu\u00adbic sca\u00adling on Win\u00addows via Open\u00adCL. If the results pro\u00adve posi\u00adti\u00adve, we may roll it out to other plat\u00adforms in a future release. We are now much clo\u00adser than in any pre\u00advious release.<\/li>\n<li>Audio and Sub\u00adtit\u00adle Defaults<br>\nThe audio and sub\u00adtit\u00adle con\u00adtrols have been over\u00adhau\u00adled to sup\u00adport default beha\u00adviours which can be stored in pre\u00adsets.
