Als kos\u00adten\u00adpflich\u00adti\u00adge Share\u00adware hat er es jedoch seit gerau\u00admer Zeit schwer, auf dem Markt gegen die pri\u00admi\u00adti\u00adve inte\u00adgrier\u00adte out-of-the-box ZIP-L\u00f6sung der Micro\u00adsoft-Betriebs\u00adsys\u00adte\u00adme oder gar die v\u00f6l\u00adlig kos\u00adten\u00adlo\u00adsen und noch dazu Open-Source L\u00f6sun\u00adgen wie 7\u2011Zip zu bestehen.<\/p>\n<p>Aber Win\u00adRAR ist nicht tot und so wur\u00adde zum ers\u00adten Mal seit Juni 2012 wie\u00adder eine neue Ver\u00adsi\u00adon nach\u00adge\u00adscho\u00adben, zum ers\u00adten Mal seit M\u00e4rz 2011 gar ein Major-Release. Anders als bei der Vor\u00adstel\u00adlung der Ver\u00adsi\u00adon 4.20 ist dies\u00admal in den Release-Notes kei\u00adne Rede von h\u00f6he\u00adrer Geschwin\u00addig\u00adkeit. Aller\u00addings soll durch Ver\u00adgr\u00f6\u00ad\u00dfe\u00adrung des Dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry die Kom\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adons\u00adra\u00adte im Stan\u00addard-Modus erh\u00f6ht wor\u00adden sein. Zudem kommt mit Ver\u00adsi\u00adon 5.00 auch ein neu\u00ades Datei\u00adfor\u00admat. Nach\u00adteil: \u00e4lte\u00adre RAR-Ver\u00adsio\u00adnen k\u00f6n\u00adnen es nicht ent\u00adpa\u00adcken. Hier die voll\u00adst\u00e4n\u00addi\u00adge \u00c4nderungsliste:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ver\u00adsi\u00adon 5.00<\/p>\n<p>1. New <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adving for\u00admat. You can use \u201c<span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0\u201d opti\u00adon in archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog or \u2011ma com\u00admand line switch to crea\u00adte <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archives.<\/p>\n<p>Older soft\u00adware inclu\u00adding older Win\u00adRAR ver\u00adsi\u00adons is not able to decom\u00adpress <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves, so if you plan to send an archi\u00adve to other peo\u00adp\u00adle, it is neces\u00adsa\u00adry to take the com\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty issue into con\u00adside\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon. You can sel\u00adect \u201c<span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span>\u201d ins\u00adtead of \u201c<span class=\"caps\">RAR5<\/span>\u201d opti\u00adon in archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog to crea\u00adte <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x archi\u00adves com\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adble with pre\u00advious Win\u00adRAR versions.<\/p>\n<p>2. Chan\u00adges in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon algorithm:<\/p>\n<p>a) maxi\u00admum com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry size is increased up to 1 <span class=\"caps\">GB<\/span> in 64 bit Win\u00adRAR. 32 bit Win\u00adRAR ver\u00adsi\u00adon can use up to 256 <span class=\"caps\">MB<\/span> dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry when crea\u00adting an archi\u00adve. Both 32 bit and 64&nbsp;bit<br>\nver\u00adsi\u00adons can unpack archi\u00adves with any dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry size, inclu\u00adding 1&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">GB<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p>b) default dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry size for <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 is 32 <span class=\"caps\">MB<\/span>, typi\u00adcal\u00adly resul\u00adting in hig\u00adher com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon ratio and lower speed than <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x 4 <span class=\"caps\">MB<\/span>. You can use \u201cDic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry size\u201d archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog opti\u00adon or \u2011md<br>\nswitch to chan\u00adge this&nbsp;value;<\/p>\n<p>c) \u2011md switch syn\u00adtax is modi\u00adfied to sup\u00adport lar\u00adger dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry sizes. Append \u2018k\u2019, \u2018m\u2019 and \u2018g\u2019 modi\u00adfiers to spe\u00adci\u00adfy the size in kilo\u2011, mega- and giga\u00adbytes, like \u2011md64m for 64 <span class=\"caps\">MB<\/span> dic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry. If modi\u00adfiers are not pre\u00adsent, mega\u00adbytes are assu\u00admed, so \u2011md64m is equal to \u2011md64;<\/p>\n<p>d) <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 for\u00admat includes Intel <span class=\"caps\">IA-32<\/span> exe\u00adcu\u00adta\u00adble and del\u00adta com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon algo\u00adrith\u00adms, but <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x text, audio, true color and Ita\u00adni\u00adum algo\u00adrith\u00adms are not sup\u00adport\u00aded. The\u00adse excluded algo\u00adrith\u00adms are not effi\u00adci\u00adent for modern data types and hard\u00adware configurations;<\/p>\n<p>e) <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 decom\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon can uti\u00adli\u00adze seve\u00adral <span class=\"caps\">CPU<\/span> cores. Though not to same ext\u00adent as in com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon algo\u00adrithm, it impro\u00adves the decom\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon speed on lar\u00adge files with poor\u00adly com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adble data or when using <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> checksums.<\/p>\n<p>3. Chan\u00adges in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adve format:<\/p>\n<p>a) file times are stored as Coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adted Uni\u00adver\u00adsal Time (<span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span>) ins\u00adtead of for\u00admer local time, making file exch\u00adan\u00adge among seve\u00adral time zones more straightforward;<\/p>\n<p>b) file names and archi\u00adve comm\u00adents use <span class=\"caps\">UTF<\/span>\u20118 encoding.<\/p>\n<p>4. <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 reco\u00advery record is based on Reed-Solo\u00admon error cor\u00adrec\u00adtion codes. If reco\u00advery record size is lar\u00adge enough, 5% and more, the new error cor\u00adrec\u00adtion sche\u00adme pro\u00advi\u00addes much hig\u00adher resis\u00adtance to mul\u00adti\u00adple dama\u00adges com\u00adpa\u00adring to <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x reco\u00advery record. Smal\u00adler record, such as 1 \u2014 2%, or less ran\u00addom dama\u00adge type would result in less dif\u00adfe\u00adrence bet\u00adween 4.x and 5.0. For sin\u00adgle con\u00adti\u00adnuous dama\u00adge 4.x and 5.0 effi\u00adci\u00aden\u00adcy is about the&nbsp;same.<\/p>\n<p>Addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly to usu\u00adal data era\u00adsu\u00adres, the new reco\u00advery record is able to detect dele\u00adti\u00adons and inser\u00adti\u00adons of much lar\u00adger size than in pre\u00advious <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> ver\u00adsi\u00adons. Maxi\u00admum inser\u00adti\u00adon size is seve\u00adral mega\u00adbytes. Maxi\u00admum dele\u00adti\u00adon size depends on the dama\u00adge type and in some cases can be as lar\u00adge as the reco\u00advery record size.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the best reco\u00advery per\u00adfor\u00admance and effi\u00adci\u00aden\u00adcy is achie\u00adved if no dele\u00adti\u00adons and inser\u00adti\u00adons are pre\u00adsent, so all data inclu\u00adding dama\u00adged sec\u00adtors pre\u00adser\u00adve their ori\u00adgi\u00adnal posi\u00adti\u00adons. Thus, if you use some spe\u00adcial soft\u00adware to copy an archi\u00adve from dama\u00adged media, it is bet\u00adter to choo\u00adse the mode, when dama\u00adged sec\u00adtors are fil\u00adled by zeroes or any other data ins\u00adtead of cut\u00adting them out com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly from resul\u00adting&nbsp;file.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 reco\u00advery record is more resistant to dama\u00adge of reco\u00advery record its\u00adelf and can uti\u00adli\u00adze a par\u00adti\u00adal\u00adly cor\u00adrupt reco\u00advery record data. Note, though, that \u201cRepair\u201d com\u00admand does not fix bro\u00adken blocks in reco\u00advery record. Only file data are cor\u00adrec\u00adted. After suc\u00adcessful archi\u00adve repair, you may need to crea\u00adte a new reco\u00advery record for saved&nbsp;files.<\/p>\n<p>New reco\u00advery record is not based on 512 byte sec\u00adtors any\u00admo\u00adre and incor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtes more com\u00adpli\u00adca\u00adted data struc\u00adtures. So it is impos\u00adsi\u00adble to spe\u00adci\u00adfy its size in sec\u00adtors. For <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves the para\u00adme\u00adter of \u2011rr[N] switch and rr[N] com\u00admand is always trea\u00adted as a per\u00adcent of archi\u00adve size regard\u00adless of pre\u00adsence of % cha\u00adrac\u00adter. Typi\u00adcal\u00adly N% reco\u00advery record can repair up to N% of con\u00adti\u00adnuous\u00adly dama\u00adged data and increa\u00adses the archi\u00adve size by only slight\u00adly more than N%. Abili\u00adty to fix mul\u00adti\u00adple dama\u00adges is pro\u00adpor\u00adtio\u00adnal to&nbsp;N.<\/p>\n<p>We used \u201cScrea\u00adming Fast Galo\u00adis Field Arith\u00adme\u00adtic Using Intel <span class=\"caps\">SIMD<\/span> Ins\u00adtruc\u00adtions\u201d paper by James S. Plank, Kevin M. Green\u00adan and Ethan L. Mil\u00adler to impro\u00adve Reed-Solo\u00admon coding per\u00adfor\u00admance. Also we are gra\u00adteful to Artem Dro\u00adba\u00adnov and Bulat Zigans\u00adhin for samples and ide\u00adas allo\u00adwed to make Reed-Solo\u00admon coding<br>\nmore efficient.<\/p>\n<p>5. \u201cTest\u201d com\u00admand veri\u00adfies vali\u00addi\u00adty of <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 reco\u00advery record. Reco\u00advery record is tes\u00adted after pro\u00adces\u00adsing all archi\u00adved&nbsp;files.<br>\nIf cor\u00adrupt archi\u00adve con\u00adta\u00adins the reco\u00advery record, it might be pos\u00adsi\u00adble to repair it even if reco\u00advery record vali\u00addi\u00adty test is failed.<br>\n\u201cRepair\u201d com\u00admand attempts to uti\u00adli\u00adze even a par\u00adti\u00adal\u00adly dama\u00adged reco\u00advery record. So tre\u00adat the nega\u00adti\u00adve reco\u00advery record test result as a reason to re-crea\u00adte the archi\u00adve if ori\u00adgi\u00adnal files are still available, but not as a reason to avo\u00adid \u201cRepair\u201d command.<\/p>\n<p>6. Chan\u00adges in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 encryp\u00adti\u00adon algorithm:<\/p>\n<p>a) encryp\u00adti\u00adon algo\u00adrithm is chan\u00adged from <span class=\"caps\">AES-128<\/span> to <span class=\"caps\">AES-256<\/span> in <span class=\"caps\">CBC<\/span> mode. Key deri\u00adva\u00adti\u00adon func\u00adtion is based on <span class=\"caps\">PBKDF2<\/span> using <span class=\"caps\">HMAC-SHA256<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p>b) spe\u00adcial pass\u00adword veri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon value allows to detect most of wrong pass\u00adwords wit\u00adhout neces\u00adsi\u00adty to unpack the enti\u00adre&nbsp;file;<\/p>\n<p>c) if archi\u00adve hea\u00adders are not encrypt\u00aded (\u201cEncrypt file names\u201d opti\u00adon is off), file checks\u00adums for encrypt\u00aded <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 files are modi\u00adfied using a spe\u00adcial pass\u00adword depen\u00addent algo\u00adrithm, to make impos\u00adsi\u00adble gues\u00adsing file con\u00adtents based on checks\u00adums. Do not expect such encrypt\u00aded file checks\u00adums to match usu\u00adal <span class=\"caps\">CRC32<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> values.<\/p>\n<p>7. <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves allow to uti\u00adli\u00adze 256 bit length BLAKE2sp hash ( https:\/\/blake2.net ) ins\u00adtead of 32 bit <span class=\"caps\">CRC32<\/span> as a file checks\u00adum. Enable \u201cUse <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> file checks\u00adum\u201d opti\u00adon in \u201cOpti\u00adons\u201d page of archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog or spe\u00adci\u00adfy \u2011htb com\u00admand line switch to use <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> checksums.<\/p>\n<p>While pro\u00addu\u00adcing slight\u00adly lar\u00adger archi\u00adves, <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> can be used for file con\u00adtents iden\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon. If two files have the same <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> value, it prac\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly gua\u00adran\u00adtees that file con\u00adtents is the same. <span class=\"caps\">BLAKE2<\/span> error detec\u00adtion pro\u00adper\u00adty is also stron\u00adger than in much shorter <span class=\"caps\">CRC32<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>8. Fea\u00adtures removed:<\/p>\n<p>a) authen\u00adti\u00adci\u00adty veri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon fea\u00adture did not pro\u00advi\u00adde the requi\u00adred level of relia\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty and was removed;<\/p>\n<p>b) switch \u2011en (do not add \u201cend of archi\u00adve\u201d block) is not sup\u00adport\u00aded by <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves, which always have the end of archi\u00adve block. This block helps Win\u00adRAR to safe\u00adly skip exter\u00adnal data like digi\u00adtal signa\u00adtures appen\u00added to archive;<\/p>\n<p>c) old style exten\u00adsi\u00adon based arcname.rNN volu\u00adme names are not sup\u00adport\u00aded by <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves, which use only arcname.partN.rar volu\u00adme&nbsp;names;<\/p>\n<p>d) file comm\u00adents are not sup\u00adport\u00aded any\u00admo\u00adre both in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x and <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves. Con\u00adso\u00adle <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> \u2018cf\u2019 com\u00admand is remo\u00adved. It does not affect the archi\u00adve com\u00adment sup\u00adport, which is pre\u00adsent in both ver\u00adsi\u00adons of archi\u00adve for\u00admat and is not plan\u00adned for removal.<\/p>\n<p>9. \u201cSet pass\u00adword\u201d com\u00admand and \u201cDic\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adry size\u201d opti\u00adon are moved to \u201cGene\u00adral\u201d page of archi\u00adving dialog.<\/p>\n<p>10. You can use \u201cSave sym\u00adbo\u00adlic links as links\u201d opti\u00adon on \u201cAdvan\u00adced\u201d page of archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog to save and res\u00adto\u00adre <span class=\"caps\">NTFS<\/span> sym\u00adbo\u00adlic links and repar\u00adse points as links, so their con\u00adtents is not archi\u00adved. Com\u00admand line equi\u00adva\u00adlent of this opti\u00adon is \u2011ol switch.<\/p>\n<p>Simi\u00adlar opti\u00adon for <span class=\"caps\">NTFS<\/span> hard links is \u201cSave hard links as links\u201d. Its com\u00admand line equi\u00adva\u00adlent is \u2011oh switch.<\/p>\n<p>Both opti\u00adons are available only for <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adve format.<\/p>\n<p>11. Added extra\u00adc\u00adtion only sup\u00adport for <span class=\"caps\">XZ<\/span> archi\u00adve format.<\/p>\n<p>12. Chan\u00adges in reco\u00advery volu\u00adme pro\u00adces\u00adsing in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adve format:<\/p>\n<p>a) maxi\u00admum num\u00adber of <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span>+<span class=\"caps\">REV<\/span> volu\u00admes in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 for\u00admat is 65535 ins\u00adtead of&nbsp;255;<\/p>\n<p>b) reco\u00advery volu\u00adme ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons are fas\u00adter than in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x;<\/p>\n<p>c) addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly to reco\u00advery data, <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 <span class=\"caps\">REV<\/span> files also store ser\u00advice infor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon such as checks\u00adums of pro\u00adtec\u00adted <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> files. So they are slight\u00adly lar\u00adger than <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> volu\u00admes which they pro\u00adtect. If you plan to copy indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">REV<\/span> files to some remo\u00adva\u00adble media, you need to take it into account and spe\u00adci\u00adfy <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> volu\u00adme size by a few kilo\u00adbytes smal\u00adler than media&nbsp;size.<\/p>\n<p>13. Maxi\u00admum path length for files in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">ZIP<\/span> archi\u00adves is increased up to 2048 characters.<\/p>\n<p>14. Com\u00admand line <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> returns the exit code 11 if it can detect that user ente\u00adred a wrong pass\u00adword. This code can be retur\u00adned only for <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 5.0 archi\u00adves. It is impos\u00adsi\u00adble to distin\u00adgu\u00adish a wrong pass\u00adword and data dama\u00adge for <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> 4.x archives.<\/p>\n<p>15. \u2018v\u2019 and \u2018l\u2019 com\u00admands dis\u00adplay archi\u00adved file names in the end of line, not in that begin\u00adning as befo\u00adre. Also some fields pre\u00advious\u00adly available in \u2018l\u2019 and \u2018v\u2019 out\u00adput are now shown only by \u2018lt\u2019 and \u2018vt\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"quo\">\u2018<\/span>vt\u2019 and \u2018lt\u2019 com\u00admands pro\u00advi\u00adde the detail\u00aded mul\u00adti\u00adli\u00adne infor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon for every archi\u00adved&nbsp;file.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"quo\">\u2018<\/span>vta\u2019 and \u2018lta\u2019 also include ser\u00advice hea\u00adders into&nbsp;list.<\/p>\n<p>16. Now the default char\u00adset for file\u00adlists in com\u00admands like \u2018rar a arc\u00adna\u00adme @filelist\u2019 is <span class=\"caps\">ANSI<\/span> for both Win\u00adRAR and con\u00adso\u00adle <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span>. In pre\u00advious ver\u00adsi\u00adons it was <span class=\"caps\">ANSI<\/span> for Win\u00adRAR and <span class=\"caps\">OEM<\/span> for con\u00adso\u00adle <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span>. You can use \u2011scl switch to over\u00adri\u00adde this default.<\/p>\n<p>17. Inter\u00adnal Win\u00adRAR view\u00ader can detect and dis\u00adplay files in <span class=\"caps\">UTF<\/span>\u20118 and <span class=\"caps\">UTF-16<\/span> litt\u00adle endi\u00adan encodings.<\/p>\n<p>18. <span class=\"caps\">UTF-16<\/span> litt\u00adle endi\u00adan enco\u00adding is used in <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> and Win\u00adRAR log file rar.log, so Uni\u00adcode file names are stored in the log cor\u00adrect\u00adly. Win\u00adRAR auto\u00adma\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly trun\u00adca\u00adtes the old rar.log file in non-Uni\u00adcode for\u00admat to avo\u00adid mixing dif\u00adfe\u00adrent enco\u00adding in the same log file. In case of con\u00adso\u00adle <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> you need to dele\u00adte the old rar.log manu\u00adal\u00adly, other\u00adwi\u00adde <span class=\"caps\">RAR<\/span> will append <span class=\"caps\">UTF-16<\/span> mes\u00adsa\u00adges to exis\u00adting rar.log.<\/p>\n<p>You can use \u2011scg switch to chan\u00adge the default log file enco\u00adding, such as \u2011scag for <span class=\"caps\">ANSI<\/span> encoding.<\/p>\n<p>19.
