NEW<\/span> YORK<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Veri\u00adzon today announ\u00adced Veri\u00adzon Cloud \u2013 its new cloud Infra\u00adstruc\u00adtu\u00adre as a Ser\u00advice (IaaS) plat\u00adform and cloud-based object sto\u00adrage ser\u00advice. With this ser\u00advice, Veri\u00adzon is fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adly chan\u00adging how public clouds are built. Lar\u00adge enter\u00adpri\u00adses, mid-size com\u00adpa\u00adnies and small deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment shops will get the agi\u00adli\u00adty and eco\u00adno\u00admic bene\u00adfit of a gene\u00adric public cloud along with the relia\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty and sca\u00adle of an enter\u00adpri\u00adse-level ser\u00advice with unpre\u00adce\u00adden\u00adted con\u00adtrol of per\u00adfor\u00admance. The public beta for Veri\u00adzon Cloud will launch in the fourth quar\u00adter of this year.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Veri\u00adzon crea\u00adted the enter\u00adpri\u00adse cloud, now we\u2019re recrea\u00adting it,\u201d said John Strat\u00adton, pre\u00adsi\u00addent of Veri\u00adzon Enter\u00adpri\u00adse Solu\u00adti\u00adons. \u201cThis is the revo\u00adlu\u00adti\u00adon in cloud ser\u00advices that enter\u00adpri\u00adses have been cal\u00adling for. We took feed\u00adback from our enter\u00adpri\u00adse cli\u00adents across the glo\u00adbe and built a new cloud plat\u00adform from the bot\u00adtom up to deli\u00adver the attri\u00adbu\u00adtes they require.\u201d<\/p>\n

Veri\u00adzon Cloud has two main com\u00adpon\u00adents: Veri\u00adzon Cloud Com\u00adpu\u00adte and Veri\u00adzon Cloud Sto\u00adrage. Veri\u00adzon Cloud Com\u00adpu\u00adte is the IaaS plat\u00adform. Veri\u00adzon Cloud Sto\u00adrage is an object-based sto\u00adrage service.<\/p>\n

Veri\u00adzon Cloud Compute<\/strong><\/p>\n

Veri\u00adzon Cloud Com\u00adpu\u00adte is built for speed and per\u00adfor\u00admance. Vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adnes (soft\u00adware-based com\u00adpu\u00adters and ser\u00advers) can be crea\u00adted and deploy\u00aded in just seconds, and users build and pay for what they need.<\/p>\n

With Veri\u00adzon Cloud Com\u00adpu\u00adte, users can deter\u00admi\u00adne and set vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adne and net\u00adwork per\u00adfor\u00admance, pro\u00advi\u00adding pre\u00addic\u00adta\u00adble per\u00adfor\u00admance for mis\u00adsi\u00adon cri\u00adti\u00adcal appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons, even during peak times. Addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly, users can con\u00adfi\u00adgu\u00adre sto\u00adrage per\u00adfor\u00admance and attach sto\u00adrage to mul\u00adti\u00adple vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adnes. Pre\u00advious\u00adly, ser\u00advices had pre-set con\u00adfi\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons for size (e.g. small, medi\u00adum, lar\u00adge) and per\u00adfor\u00admance, with litt\u00adle fle\u00adxi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty regar\u00adding vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adne and net\u00adwork per\u00adfor\u00admance and sto\u00adrage con\u00adfi\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon. No other cloud offe\u00adring pro\u00advi\u00addes this level of control.<\/p>\n

In addi\u00adti\u00adon, while Veri\u00adzon built the solu\u00adti\u00adon for enter\u00adpri\u00adses, it is nim\u00adble enough to meet the needs of small and medi\u00adum busi\u00adnesses, indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal IT<\/span> depart\u00adments and soft\u00adware developers.<\/p>\n
