In this role, he will lead Intel Labs in its mis\u00adsi\u00adon to look bey\u00adond today\u2019s pro\u00adduct port\u00adfo\u00adlio to dis\u00adco\u00adver and rese\u00adarch new forms of tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy and com\u00adpu\u00adting. Intel Labs ope\u00adra\u00adtes one of the most advan\u00adced net\u00adworks of col\u00adla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adti\u00adve uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty-based rese\u00adarch part\u00adner\u00adships and seeks to speed the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment and sca\u00adle the impact of emer\u00adging technologies.<\/p>\n

Pri\u00ador to this role, Rich was the direc\u00adtor of Sys\u00adtems and Soft\u00adware Rese\u00adarch in Intel Labs, whe\u00adre he led rese\u00adarch efforts in vir\u00adtua\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon, cloud-com\u00adpu\u00adting sys\u00adtems, soft\u00adware-defi\u00adned net\u00adwor\u00adking, big-data ana\u00adly\u00adtics, machi\u00adne lear\u00adning and arti\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal intel\u00adli\u00adgence. He joi\u00adn\u00aded Intel in 1996 and led the defi\u00adni\u00adti\u00adon of mul\u00adti\u00adple gene\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons of vir\u00adtua\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon archi\u00adtec\u00adtu\u00adre for Intel pro\u00adces\u00adsors and plat\u00adforms, known coll\u00adec\u00adtively as Intel Vir\u00adtua\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon Tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy (Intel\u00ae VT<\/span>). Rich ear\u00adned his Ph.D. in com\u00adpu\u00adter sci\u00adence and engi\u00adnee\u00adring from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Michigan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
