Hsin\u00adchu, Tai\u00adwan, R.O.C., July 18, 2019 \u2014 TSMC<\/span> today announ\u00adced con\u00adso\u00adli\u00adda\u00adted reve\u00adnue of NT<\/span>$241.00 bil\u00adli\u00adon, net inco\u00adme of NT<\/span>$66.77 bil\u00adli\u00adon, and diluted ear\u00adnings per share of NT<\/span>$2.57 (US<\/span>$0.41 per ADR<\/span> unit) for the second quar\u00adter ended June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n

Year-over-year, second quar\u00adter reve\u00adnue increased 3.3% while net inco\u00adme and diluted EPS<\/span> both decreased 7.6%. Com\u00adpared to first quar\u00adter 2019, second quar\u00adter results repre\u00adsen\u00adted a 10.2% increase in reve\u00adnue and an 8.7% increase in net inco\u00adme. All figu\u00adres were pre\u00adpared in accordance with TIFRS<\/span> on a con\u00adso\u00adli\u00adda\u00adted basis.<\/p>\n

In US<\/span> dol\u00adlars, second quar\u00adter reve\u00adnue was $7.75 bil\u00adli\u00adon, which decreased 1.4% year-over-year and increased 9.2% from the pre\u00advious quarter.<\/p>\n

Gross mar\u00adgin for the quar\u00adter was 43.0%, ope\u00adra\u00adting mar\u00adgin was 31.7%, and net pro\u00adfit mar\u00adgin was 27.7%.<\/p>\n

In the second quar\u00adter, ship\u00adments of 7\u2011nanometer accoun\u00adted for 21% of total wafer reve\u00adnue and 10-nano\u00adme\u00adter pro\u00adcess tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adted 3% while 16-nano\u00adme\u00adter accoun\u00adted for 23%. Advan\u00adced tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies, defi\u00adned as 16-nano\u00adme\u00adter and more advan\u00adced tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies, accoun\u00adted for 47% of total wafer revenue.<\/p>\n

Based on our cur\u00adrent busi\u00adness out\u00adlook, manage\u00adment expects the over\u00adall per\u00adfor\u00admance for third quar\u00adter 2019 to be as follows\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Reve\u00adnue is expec\u00adted to be bet\u00adween US<\/span>$9.1 bil\u00adli\u00adon and US<\/span>$9.2 billion;<\/p>\n

And based on the exch\u00adan\u00adge rate assump\u00adti\u00adon of 1 US<\/span> dol\u00adlar to 31.0 NT<\/span> dollars,<\/p>\n
