Der Packer RAR<\/span> oder eben Win\u00adRAR gilt nach wie vor als einer der leis\u00adtungs\u00adf\u00e4\u00adhigs\u00adten sei\u00adner Art. Als kos\u00adten\u00adpflich\u00adti\u00adge Share\u00adware hat er es jedoch seit gerau\u00admer Zeit schwer, auf dem Markt gegen die inte\u00adgrier\u00adte Out-of-the-box-L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr ZIP-Datei\u00aden unter Micro\u00adsoft-Betriebs\u00adsys\u00adte\u00admen oder gar die v\u00f6l\u00adlig kos\u00adten\u00adlo\u00adsen und noch dazu Open-Source-L\u00f6sun\u00adgen wie etwa  7\u2011Zip<\/a> zu bestehen.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Chan\u00adge\u00adlog:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ver\u00adsi\u00adon 5.80 beta 1<\/p>\n

1. \u201cPre\u00adser\u00adve source files last access time\u201d opti\u00adon on \u201cTime\u201d page
\nof archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog per\u00admits to pre\u00adser\u00adve the ori\u00adgi\u00adnal last access time
\nof archi\u00adving files.<\/p>\n

2. Com\u00admand line \u2011tsp switch can be used to pre\u00adser\u00adve the original
\nlast access time of archi\u00adving files. It can be com\u00adbi\u00adned with other
\n\u2011ts swit\u00adches, like: rar a \u2011tsc \u2011tsp arc\u00adna\u00adme files<\/p>\n

3. It is allo\u00adwed to com\u00adbi\u00adne seve\u00adral modi\u00adfiers in the same \u2011ts switch.
\nFor exam\u00adp\u00adle, we can use \u2011tscap ins\u00adtead \u2011tsc \u2011tsa \u2011tsp.<\/p>\n

4. Win\u00adRAR can read default values of com\u00admand line swit\u00adches from rar.ini
\ntext file, which can be stored eit\u00adher in the same fol\u00adder as WinRAR.exe
\nor in %APPDATA<\/span>%\\WinRAR fol\u00adder. This file includes strings in following
\nformat:<\/p>\n

switches=<any RAR<\/span> swit\u00adches sepa\u00adra\u00adted by spaces>
\nswitches_<command>=<any RAR<\/span> swit\u00adches sepa\u00adra\u00adted by spaces><\/p>\n

First appli\u00ades swit\u00adches to all and second to indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal commands.
\nFor example:<\/p>\n

\nswitches_x=-o+<\/p>\n

Most of swit\u00adches spe\u00adci\u00adfied in rar.ini are used only in the com\u00admand line
\nmode. Some swit\u00adches can be appli\u00adca\u00adble both in shell and in com\u00admand line
\nmodes. Pre\u00advious\u00adly this rar.ini for\u00admat was sup\u00adport\u00aded only by con\u00adso\u00adle RAR<\/span>.<\/p>\n

5. Com\u00admand line \u2011agf<default_format> switch spe\u00adci\u00adfies the default format
\nstring for \u2011ag switch. It has a prac\u00adti\u00adcal value only if pla\u00adced to
\nrar.ini con\u00adfi\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon file or to RAR<\/span> envi\u00adron\u00adment variable.
\nFor exam\u00adp\u00adle, if we set RAR<\/span> envi\u00adron\u00adment varia\u00adble to \u2011agfY\u00adY\u00adYY-MMM-DD,
\nwe can use \u2011ag wit\u00adhout a para\u00adme\u00adter with YYYY-MMM-DD<\/span> for\u00admat string
\nassumed.<\/p>\n

6. Swit\u00adches \u2011ed and \u2011e+d can be used in archi\u00adve pro\u00adces\u00adsing commands
\nfor any com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adon of RAR<\/span> and archi\u00adve ope\u00adra\u00adting systems.
\nIn older ver\u00adsi\u00adons RAR<\/span> for Win\u00addows could not use them for Unix RAR<\/span>
\narchi\u00adves also as RAR<\/span> for Unix for Win\u00addows RAR<\/span> archives.<\/p>\n

7. Pre\u00advious\u00adly \u201cTest\u201d com\u00admand fai\u00adled to check inte\u00adgri\u00adty of archi\u00adved NTFS<\/span>
\nalter\u00adna\u00adte data streams and issued \u201cUnknown data hea\u00adder for\u00admat\u201d warning
\nif size of such stream excee\u00added 16 MB<\/span>. This limi\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon is remo\u00adved now.<\/p>\n

8. Archi\u00adving speed for lar\u00adge NTFS<\/span> alter\u00adna\u00adte data streams on multi-core
\nCPUs is increased.<\/p>\n

9. \u201cFind\u201d command:<\/p>\n

a) when extra\u00adc\u00adting encrypt\u00aded files direct\u00adly from \u201cSearch results\u201d
\ndia\u00adlog, pass\u00adword prompt was issued for every found file
\neven if all files belon\u00adged to same archive.<\/p>\n

Now pass\u00adword is reques\u00adted only once per archive;<\/p>\n

b) Ctrl+A hot\u00adkey sel\u00adects all files in \u201cSearch results\u201d.<\/p>\n

10. Archi\u00adve com\u00adment window:<\/p>\n

a) pre\u00advious ver\u00adsi\u00adons did not allow to use Ctrl+W short\u00adcut to close
\nWin\u00adRAR when com\u00adment win\u00addow had key\u00adboard focus. Now Ctrl+W works
\nalso from com\u00adment window;<\/p>\n

b) mou\u00adse wheel is sup\u00adport\u00aded also for comm\u00adents with ANSI<\/span> Escape sequences;<\/p>\n

c) for some lengh\u00adty comm\u00adents with ANSI<\/span> Escape sequen\u00adces last line
\nof com\u00adment was visi\u00adble only par\u00adti\u00adal\u00adly even after scrol\u00adling up to
\nbot\u00adtom. It is dis\u00adplay\u00aded com\u00adle\u00adte\u00adly now.<\/p>\n

11. Maxi\u00admum path length for files in 7z archi\u00adves is increased up to
\n2048 cha\u00adrac\u00adters. While such leng\u00adthy paths were alre\u00ada\u00addy supported
\nfor RAR<\/span> and ZIP<\/span> for\u00admats, pre\u00advious ver\u00adsi\u00adons limi\u00adt\u00aded the path length
\nto 260 cha\u00adrac\u00adters for 7z archives.<\/p>\n

12. If archi\u00adve or file name is too leng\u00adthy to fit to archiving
\nor extra\u00adc\u00adtion pro\u00adgress win\u00addow, it is trun\u00adca\u00adted. Pre\u00advious\u00adly such names
\nwere trun\u00adca\u00adted at the end, making the file exten\u00adsi\u00adon invisible.
\nThis ver\u00adsi\u00adon trun\u00adca\u00adtes them remo\u00adving the path com\u00adpo\u00adnent and symbols
\nin the midd\u00adle, but pre\u00adser\u00adving begin\u00adning of file name and file extension.<\/p>\n

13. If files sel\u00adec\u00adted for archi\u00adving dif\u00adfer only by extension,
\na pro\u00adpo\u00adsed archi\u00adve name is based on their name part.
\nFor exam\u00adp\u00adle, archi\u00adving dia\u00adlog will pro\u00adpo\u00adse Readme.rar if we selected
\nReadme.txt and Readme.doc.<\/p>\n

Pre\u00advious ver\u00adsi\u00adons always gene\u00adra\u00adted the archi\u00adve name based on parent
\nfol\u00adder name for seve\u00adral sel\u00adec\u00adted files.<\/p>\n

14. \u201cSym\u00adlink\u201d and \u201cHard\u00adlink\u201d is diplay\u00aded in \u201cType\u201d column for symlink
\nand hard\u00adlink records in .tar archi\u00adves. Pre\u00advious ver\u00adsi\u00adons displayed
\na pro\u00adper type for such records only in .rar archives.<\/p>\n

15. Copy\u00ading and pas\u00adting files from lar\u00adge archi\u00adves could fail if
\nextra\u00adc\u00adtion took a lot of time. This ver\u00adsi\u00adon can pas\u00adte files from
\nsuch archi\u00adves as well, but we have to start extra\u00adc\u00adtion alre\u00ada\u00addy on
\n\u201cCopy\u201d com\u00admand and not on \u201cPas\u00adte\u201d to achie\u00adve this.<\/p>\n

16. Simi\u00adlar\u00adly to RAR5<\/span> volu\u00admes, reco\u00advery volu\u00admes in RAR4<\/span> for\u00admat use
\nthe same width of volu\u00adme num\u00adber field as cor\u00adre\u00adspon\u00adding RAR<\/span> volumes.
\nWhile pre\u00advious\u00adly Win\u00adRAR could crea\u00adte arc.part01.rar and arc.part1.rev
\nin RAR4<\/span> for\u00admat, now both types of volu\u00admes will use \u201cpart01\u201d.<\/p>\n

17. \u201cSet font\u2026\u201d but\u00adton in \u201cSettings\/File list\u201d also chan\u00adges the folder
\ntree panel font. Pre\u00advious\u00adly it chan\u00adged only the file list font.<\/p>\n

18. Bugs fixed:<\/p>\n

a) if non-exis\u00adtent path is spe\u00adci\u00adfied in archi\u00adve name in archiving
\ndia\u00adlog, Win\u00adRAR pro\u00adpo\u00adses to crea\u00adte such path. Pre\u00advious versions
\ncould crea\u00adte such path in Win\u00adRAR start-up fol\u00adder ins\u00adtead of
\ncurr\u00adent\u00adly dis\u00adplay\u00aded folder;<\/p>\n

b) Win\u00adRAR could crash when adding the reco\u00advery record in RAR5<\/span> format
\non CPUs not sup\u00adport\u00ading CPUID<\/span> EAX<\/span>=7 com\u00admand and retur\u00adning random
\ndata in respon\u00adse. The\u00adse are some CPUs from ear\u00adly 2000s;<\/p>\n

c) Win\u00adRAR fai\u00adled to crea\u00adte archi\u00adves after drag\u00adging files with
\nright mou\u00adse but\u00adton in Win\u00addows shell, drop\u00adping them to ano\u00adther folder,
\nsel\u00adec\u00adting \u201cAdd to archi\u00adve\u2026\u201d in con\u00adtext menu and enabling
\n\u201cPut each file to sepa\u00adra\u00adte archi\u00adve\u201d option;<\/p>\n

d) \u201cwin\u00adrar r *.zip\u201d com\u00admand repai\u00adred only the first ZIP<\/span> archive
\nin the set if all archi\u00adves had nume\u00adric names like 1.zip, 2.zip
\nand signa\u00adtures in the begin\u00adning of archi\u00adves were missing;<\/p>\n

e) pre\u00advious Win\u00adRAR ver\u00adsi\u00adon fai\u00adled to unpack fol\u00adder records
\nin archi\u00adves crea\u00adted by RAR<\/span> 1.50;<\/p>\n

f) in rare cases Win\u00adRAR fai\u00adled to extra\u00adct and repor\u00adted an error
\nfor valid .gz archi\u00adves pro\u00addu\u00adced by some com\u00adpres\u00adsi\u00adon optimization
\ntools;<\/p>\n

g) pro\u00adgress bar in tray icon never rea\u00adched 100% in high DPI<\/span> mode;<\/p>\n

h) crea\u00adti\u00adon and last access time was not dis\u00adplay\u00aded for archi\u00adved folders
\nif fol\u00adder records were stored in archi\u00adve after fol\u00adder contents;<\/p>\n

i) \u201cSkip encrypt\u00aded archi\u00adves\u201d opti\u00adon in \u201cCon\u00advert archi\u00adves\u201d command
\ndid not work for 7\u2011Zip archi\u00adves with hea\u00adders encryption.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
