San\u00adta Cla\u00adra, Calif., Sep\u00adtem\u00adber 24, 2019<\/strong> \u2013 GLOBALFOUNDRIES<\/span> (GF<\/span>), the world\u2019s lea\u00adding spe\u00adcial\u00adty foundry, announ\u00adced today at its Glo\u00adbal Tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy Con\u00adfe\u00adrence the avai\u00adla\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty of 12LP<\/span>+, an inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve new solu\u00adti\u00adon for AI<\/span> trai\u00adning and infe\u00adrence appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons. 12LP<\/span>+ offers chip desi\u00adgners a best-in-class com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adon of per\u00adfor\u00admance, power and area, along with a set of key new fea\u00adtures, a matu\u00adre design and pro\u00adduc\u00adtion eco\u00adsys\u00adtem, cost-effi\u00adci\u00adent deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment and fast time-to-mar\u00adket for high-growth cloud and edge AI<\/span> applications.<\/p>\n

Deri\u00adved from GF<\/span>\u2019s exis\u00adting 12nm Lea\u00adding Per\u00adfor\u00admance (12LP<\/span>) plat\u00adform, GF<\/span>\u2019s new 12LP<\/span>+ pro\u00advi\u00addes eit\u00adher a 20% increase in per\u00adfor\u00admance or a 40% reduc\u00adtion in power requi\u00adre\u00adments over the base 12LP<\/span> plat\u00adform, plus a 15% impro\u00adve\u00adment in logic area sca\u00adling. A key fea\u00adture is a high-speed, low-power 0.5V<\/span> SRAM<\/span> bit cell that sup\u00adports the fast, power-effi\u00adci\u00adent shut\u00adt\u00adling of data bet\u00adween pro\u00adces\u00adsors and memo\u00adry, an important requi\u00adre\u00adment for AI<\/span> appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons in the com\u00adpu\u00adting and wired infra\u00adstruc\u00adtu\u00adre markets.<\/p>\n
