Atos, a glo\u00adbal lea\u00adder in digi\u00adtal trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon, has signed a con\u00adtract with the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of the Balea\u00adric Islands (UIB<\/span>)<\/strong> to sup\u00adp\u00adly a new super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adting clus\u00adter, based on Atos\u2019 Bull\u00adSe\u00adqua\u00adna X tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy, to the IFISC<\/span><\/strong> (Insti\u00adtu\u00adte of Inter\u00addi\u00adsci\u00adpli\u00adna\u00adry Phy\u00adsics and Com\u00adplex Sys\u00adtems). The IFISC<\/span> is a joint insti\u00adtu\u00adte of the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of the Balea\u00adric Islands and the Spa\u00adnish Hig\u00adher Coun\u00adcil for Sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic Rese\u00adarch (CSIC<\/span>), and runs sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic rese\u00adarch in the frame\u00adwork of com\u00adplex sys\u00adtems. It is one of the most inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic rese\u00adarch cen\u00adters in Spain. The new com\u00adpu\u00adta\u00adtio\u00adnal clus\u00adter will be used for Big Data ana\u00adly\u00adsis and inten\u00adsi\u00adve digi\u00adtal simu\u00adla\u00adti\u00adons and sub\u00adstan\u00adti\u00adal\u00adly enhan\u00adce the institute\u2019s rese\u00adarch capa\u00adci\u00adty, enab\u00adling it to face new challenges.<\/p>\n

The supercomputer\u2019s archi\u00adtec\u00adtu\u00adre is based on Atos\u2019 Bull\u00adSe\u00adqua\u00adna X430A5<\/span> ser\u00advers, with AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span> Rome latest gene\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00adces\u00adsors. Atos was sel\u00adec\u00adted from 11 can\u00addi\u00adda\u00adtes who took part in the Euro\u00adpean public ten\u00adder for the signi\u00adfi\u00adcant\u00adly supe\u00adri\u00ador per\u00adfor\u00admance of its offer com\u00adpared to other pro\u00adpo\u00adsals. The deli\u00advery and instal\u00adla\u00adti\u00adon of the new equip\u00adment is sche\u00addu\u00adled for Decem\u00adber 2019.<\/p>\n
