PARIS<\/span>, France, Jan. 7, 2020 \u2014 Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has signed a four-year contract to supply its <\/span>BullSequana XH2000<\/span><\/a> supercomputer, to the University of Luxembourg, renowned European university and international leader in research. The supercomputer, named as \u2018AION<\/span>\u2019, will allow the university to further accelerate research and to face global competition, by achieving cutting-edge results.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n

The Bull\u00adSe\u00adqua\u00adna XH2000<\/span><\/a> super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter will give rese\u00adar\u00adchers 1.5 times more com\u00adpu\u00adting capa\u00adci\u00adty than pre\u00advious\u00adly, with a theo\u00adre\u00adti\u00adcal peak per\u00adfor\u00admance of 1.7 peta\u00adflops which will com\u00adple\u00adment the exis\u00adting super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adting clus\u00adter. It will be equip\u00adped with AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span>\u2122 pro\u00adces\u00adsors and Mel\u00adlan\u00adox Infi\u00adni\u00adBand HDR<\/span> tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy, con\u00adnec\u00adted to a DDN<\/span> sto\u00adrage environment.<\/p>\n

The new super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter will be used by the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty and its Euro\u00adpean and inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal part\u00adners to acce\u00adle\u00adra\u00adte the rese\u00adarch per\u00adfor\u00admed in inten\u00adsi\u00adve com\u00adpu\u00adting and lar\u00adge-sca\u00adle Big Data ana\u00adly\u00adtics. This includes cut\u00adting-edge deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adments for rese\u00adarch in various domains such as par\u00adtic\u00adle phy\u00adsics, mate\u00adri\u00adal sci\u00aden\u00adces, theo\u00adre\u00adti\u00adcal che\u00admis\u00adtry, earth sci\u00aden\u00adces, nume\u00adri\u00adcal wea\u00adther pre\u00addic\u00adtion, astro\u00adphy\u00adsics, cryp\u00adto\u00adlo\u00adgy, arti\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal intel\u00adli\u00adgence, and eco\u00adno\u00admic\u00adal simulations.<\/p>\n
