This is the first dual socket AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span> mother\u00adboard by GIGABYTE<\/span>, and it tar\u00adgets small busi\u00adnesses that are loo\u00adking for high com\u00adpu\u00adte in a small tower or rack ser\u00adver. Whe\u00adther as a pro\u00adfes\u00adsio\u00adnal work\u00adsta\u00adtion, sys\u00adtem vir\u00adtua\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon, media edi\u00adtor, or even a high-den\u00adsi\u00adty sto\u00adrage ser\u00adver, the MZ72-HB0<\/span><\/a> is extre\u00adme\u00adly fle\u00adxi\u00adble and capable.<\/p>\n

The MZ72-HB0<\/span><\/a> comes in a stan\u00addard E\u2011ATX<\/span> form fac\u00adtor giving it the fle\u00adxi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty for a diver\u00adse ran\u00adge of envi\u00adron\u00adments. It also caters more towards the 2nd Gen AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span> line of pro\u00adces\u00adsors becau\u00adse of the addi\u00adti\u00adon of PCIe 4.0, which has impro\u00adved speeds and band\u00adwidth bene\u00adfiting 100G<\/span>\/200G<\/span> Ether\u00adnet, Infi\u00adni\u00adBand, NVMe dri\u00adves, and acce\u00adle\u00adra\u00adtors. The sup\u00adport for PCIe 4.0 extends into expan\u00adsi\u00adon slots, whe\u00adre the\u00adre are five PCIe 4.0 slots that can be used for GPUs, acce\u00adle\u00adra\u00adtors, sto\u00adrage devices, or net\u00adwor\u00adking. The\u00adre are a gre\u00adat deal of opti\u00adons for this mother\u00adboard, inclu\u00adding the abili\u00adty to hand\u00adle a 280W<\/span> AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span> processor.<\/p>\n

With sup\u00adport for dual pro\u00adces\u00adsors, the MZ72-HB0<\/span><\/a> has 16 DIMM<\/span> slots, 8 DIMMs per CPU<\/span>, and sup\u00adport for 8 memo\u00adry chan\u00adnels. This allows for DDR4-3200<\/span> in one DIMM<\/span> per chan\u00adnel, or DDR4-2933<\/span> in two DIMMs per chan\u00adnel, and up to 4TB<\/span> of memo\u00adry. GIGABYTE<\/span> has also included ple\u00adnty of sto\u00adrage and LAN<\/span> ports. The sto\u00adrage opti\u00adons: 4 x SATAIII<\/span>, 2 x SlimS\u00adAS for U.2, 3 x SlimS\u00adAS for eit\u00adher 12 x SATAIII<\/span> or 3 x U.2, and 1 x M.2 (@Gen4 x 4). For net\u00adwor\u00adking, the\u00adre is a dual-port 10GbE Broad\u00adcom con\u00adtrol\u00adler, and 1 mLAN port. To round it out, the\u00adre is a manage\u00adment con\u00adtrol soft\u00adware bund\u00adled with the MZ72-HB0<\/span>.<\/p>\n
