Hsin\u00adchu, Tai\u00adwan, R.O.C., Apr. 15, 2021<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 TSMC<\/span> <\/span>(TWSE<\/span>: 2330, NYSE<\/span>: TSM<\/span>) today announ\u00adced con\u00adso\u00adli\u00adda\u00adted reve\u00adnue of NT<\/span>$362.41 bil\u00adli\u00adon, net inco\u00adme of NT<\/span>$139.69 bil\u00adli\u00adon, and diluted ear\u00adnings per share of NT<\/span>$5.39 (US<\/span>$0.96 per ADR<\/span> unit) for the first quar\u00adter ended March 31, 2021.<\/p>\n

Year-over-year, first quar\u00adter reve\u00adnue increased 16.7% while net inco\u00adme and diluted EPS<\/span> both increased 19.4%. Com\u00adpared to fourth quar\u00adter 2020, first quar\u00adter results repre\u00adsen\u00adted a 0.2% increase in reve\u00adnue and a 2.2% decrease in net inco\u00adme. All figu\u00adres were pre\u00adpared in accordance with TIFRS<\/span> on a con\u00adso\u00adli\u00adda\u00adted basis.<\/p>\n

In US<\/span> dol\u00adlars, first quar\u00adter reve\u00adnue was $12.92 bil\u00adli\u00adon, which increased 25.4% year-over-year and increased 1.9% from the pre\u00advious quarter.<\/p>\n

Gross mar\u00adgin for the quar\u00adter was 52.4%, ope\u00adra\u00adting mar\u00adgin was 41.5%, and net pro\u00adfit mar\u00adgin was 38.6%.<\/p>\n

In the first quar\u00adter, ship\u00adments of 5\u2011nanometer accoun\u00adted for 14% of total wafer reve\u00adnue; 7\u2011nanometer accoun\u00adted for 35%. Advan\u00adced tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies, defi\u00adned as 7\u2011nanometer and more advan\u00adced tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies, accoun\u00adted for 49% of total wafer revenue.<\/p>\n
