Atos today announ\u00adces that Bulgaria\u2019s new EuroHPC super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter, which is based on Atos\u2019 powerful Bull\u00adSe\u00adqua\u00adna XH2000<\/span><\/a> archi\u00adtec\u00adtu\u00adre, is now ful\u00adly deli\u00adver\u00aded and assem\u00adbled at Sofia Tech Park in Bul\u00adga\u00adria. Atos was sel\u00adec\u00adted to build Bulgaria\u2019s petas\u00adca\u00adle super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter by the Euro\u00adpean High Per\u00adfor\u00admance Com\u00adpu\u00adting Joint Under\u00adta\u00adking (EuroHPC JU<\/span>), the hos\u00adting enti\u00adty, and the con\u00adsor\u00adti\u00adum \u201cPetas\u00adca\u00adle Super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter Bul\u00adga\u00adria\u201d <\/strong>(PetaSC-Bul\u00adga\u00adria) who\u00adse lea\u00adding part\u00adner is Sofia Tech Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This will be the most powerful super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter in Eas\u00adtern Euro\u00adpe and will help to levera\u00adge Bulgaria\u2019s high-tech ambi\u00adti\u00adons. Atos\u2019 Czech Repu\u00adblic pro\u00adject teams have alre\u00ada\u00addy star\u00adted the con\u00adfi\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon tests and the super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter is expec\u00adted to start working ope\u00adra\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly in July 2021.<\/p>\n

The super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter will help impro\u00adve Euro\u00adpean sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic rese\u00adarch and fos\u00adter inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adon by pro\u00advi\u00adding access to sta\u00adte-of-the-art HPC<\/span> infra\u00adstruc\u00adtu\u00adre and ser\u00advices to a wide ran\u00adge of users from the sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic rese\u00adarch com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty, indus\u00adtry and the public sector.<\/p>\n

It will ser\u00adve the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic, public and indus\u00adtri\u00adal appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons in many fields, inclu\u00adding bio\u00adin\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtics, phar\u00adma\u00adcy, mole\u00adcu\u00adlar dyna\u00admics and mecha\u00adnics, quan\u00adtum che\u00admis\u00adtry and bio\u00adche\u00admis\u00adtry, arti\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal intel\u00adli\u00adgence, per\u00adso\u00adna\u00adli\u00adzed medi\u00adci\u00adne, bio\u00aden\u00adgi\u00adnee\u00adring, meteo\u00adro\u00adlo\u00adgy, and the fight against cli\u00adma\u00adte change.<\/p>\n

In this regard, we com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adte with the exis\u00adting EuroHPC cen\u00adters and have initia\u00adted mee\u00adtings with the aca\u00adde\u00admy and indus\u00adtry repre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adves. We alre\u00ada\u00addy have the first requests for sol\u00adving prag\u00adma\u00adtic tasks in che\u00admis\u00adtry, medi\u00adci\u00adne, and bio\u00adlo\u00adgy. Of cour\u00adse, we are also loo\u00adking for\u00adward to the future \u2014 we are tal\u00adking with Atos to add their plat\u00adform and expe\u00adri\u00adence in quan\u00adtum com\u00adpu\u00adters\u201d, <\/em>said Peter Sta\u00adtev, the Chair\u00adman of the Super\u00advi\u00adso\u00adry Board at Sofia Tech Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addi\u00adti\u00adon to this EuroHPC ten\u00adder, Atos\u2019 Bull\u00adSe\u00adqua\u00adna will also be used in four addi\u00adtio\u00adnal EuroHPC super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adting cen\u00adtres; CINECA<\/span> in Ita\u00adly, IZUM<\/span> in Slove\u00adnia<\/a>, with Lux\u00adPro\u00advi\u00adde in Luxem\u00adbourg and in the Min\u00adho Advan\u00adced Com\u00adpu\u00adting Cent\u00adre in Por\u00adtu\u00adgal, ther\u00adeby rein\u00adfor\u00adcing Atos\u2019 posi\u00adti\u00adon as a Euro\u00adpean lea\u00adder in high-per\u00adfor\u00admance computing.<\/p>\n

31 Atos super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adters are lis\u00adted in the TOP500<\/span> world\u00adwi\u00adde super\u00adcom\u00adpu\u00adter ran\u00adking, with a com\u00adbi\u00adned peak per\u00adfor\u00admance of 251 peta\u00adflops \u2014 this is an increase of 79% in peta\u00adflops from the TOP500<\/span> lis\u00adting in June 2020.<\/p>\n

The size of the RAM<\/span> rea\u00adches over 300 TB<\/span> and the num\u00adber of cores is 144 384, while the com\u00adpu\u00adter is built on AMD<\/span> EPYC<\/span> pro\u00adces\u00adsors coo\u00adled by hot water and has a fast disk sto\u00adrage with a capa\u00adci\u00adty of 2 PB<\/span>.
