Recent\u00adly, the product\u2019s mass pro\u00adduc\u00adtion sche\u00addu\u00adle has been post\u00adpo\u00adned again to the end of 2023 for some reason, nigh com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly can\u00adcel\u00adling 3nm pro\u00adduc\u00adtion capa\u00adci\u00adty ori\u00adgi\u00adnal\u00adly boo\u00adked in 2023 with only a mar\u00adgi\u00adnal amount of wafer input remai\u00adning for engi\u00adnee\u00adring verification.<\/p>\n<p>Trend\u00adForce indi\u00adca\u00adtes that this inci\u00addent has great\u00adly affec\u00adted <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span>\u2019s pro\u00adduc\u00adtion expan\u00adsi\u00adon plan, resul\u00adting in Apple being the one com\u00adpa\u00adny among the first wave of 3nm pro\u00adcess cli\u00adents from <span class=\"caps\">2H22<\/span> to the start 2023 with pro\u00adducts inclu\u00adding M series chips and <span class=\"caps\">A17<\/span> Bio\u00adnic. In view of this, <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span> has deci\u00added to slow the pro\u00adgress of its pro\u00adduc\u00adtion expan\u00adsi\u00adon to ensu\u00adre pro\u00adduc\u00adtion capa\u00adci\u00adty is not exces\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly idle, lea\u00adding to mas\u00adsi\u00adve cost amor\u00adtiza\u00adti\u00adon pres\u00adsu\u00adre. In addi\u00adti\u00adon to for\u00admal\u00adly noti\u00adfy\u00ading equip\u00adment sup\u00adpli\u00aders of the company\u2019s inten\u00adti\u00adon to adjust 2023 equip\u00adment orders, due to the high cost of 3nm expan\u00adsi\u00adon, Trend\u00adForce expects that this move will also affect some parts of <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span>\u2019s 2023 CapEx plan\u00adning. As a result, the sca\u00adle of <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span>\u2019s CapEx in 2023 may be lower than in&nbsp;2022.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth men\u00adtio\u00adning, alt\u00adhough Intel has signi\u00adfi\u00adcant\u00adly adjus\u00adted its 2023 out\u00adsour\u00adcing plan, caus\u00ading <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span> to post\u00adpo\u00adne its 2023 expan\u00adsi\u00adon plans, loo\u00adking at other advan\u00adced pro\u00adcess cli\u00adents inclu\u00adding <span class=\"caps\">AMD<\/span>, Media\u00adTek, and Qual\u00adcomm, all of the\u00adse com\u00adpa\u00adnies suc\u00adces\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly plan to mass-pro\u00addu\u00adce 3nm pro\u00adducts in 2024. At the same time, Apple\u2019s new 2024 iPho\u00adne is expec\u00adted to ful\u00adly adopt 3nm pro\u00adces\u00adsors. The intro\u00adduc\u00adtion of the afo\u00adre\u00admen\u00adtio\u00adned cli\u00adents will inject momen\u00adtum into <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span>\u2019s 3nm capa\u00adci\u00adty uti\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon and reve\u00adnue per\u00adfor\u00admance in&nbsp;2024.<\/p>\n<p>Trend\u00adForce belie\u00adves, alt\u00adhough <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span> has deci\u00added to curb its CapEx in 2023 due to the delay of Intel pro\u00adducts, <span class=\"caps\">TSMC<\/span>\u2019s annu\u00adal reve\u00adnue will still grow com\u00adpared with 2022 but at a slower rate.
