SAN<\/span> FRANCISCO<\/span>, Novem\u00adber 8, 2022 <\/strong>\u2013 The Cloud Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor Pro\u00adject<\/a>, a lea\u00adding vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adne moni\u00adtor (VMM<\/span>) for run\u00adning modern cloud workloads, is exci\u00adted to wel\u00adco\u00adme AMD<\/span> to their Advi\u00adso\u00adry Board. The Linux Foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon and the foun\u00adding mem\u00adbers of the Cloud Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor Pro\u00adject would like to wel\u00adco\u00adme AMD<\/span> and look for\u00adward to working with them to fos\u00adter an envi\u00adron\u00adment of open source collaboration.<\/p>\n

Sin\u00adce 2021, the Cloud Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor Pro\u00adject, under the umbrel\u00adla of the Linux Foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon, has had broad sup\u00adport across indus\u00adtries \u2013 inclu\u00adding both from CPU<\/span> manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders as well as public cloud ope\u00adra\u00adtors. The Cloud Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor pro\u00adject is desi\u00adgned for sup\u00adport\u00ading modern workloads both on the Edge as well as on the Cloud.  As the Linux Foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon con\u00adti\u00adnues to stan\u00addar\u00addi\u00adze key com\u00adpon\u00adents of the soft\u00adware stack for mana\u00adging and orchest\u00adra\u00adting modern workloads, Cloud Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor will con\u00adti\u00adnue to play an important role.<\/p>\n

As a major CPU<\/span> ven\u00addor, AMD<\/span>\u2019s decis\u00adi\u00adon to join the pro\u00adject is a reflec\u00adtion on the momen\u00adtum of this effort to stan\u00addar\u00addi\u00adze one of the key tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy com\u00adpon\u00adents in a modern vir\u00adtua\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon stack \u2013 the vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adne moni\u00adtor. A VMM<\/span> uses the func\u00adtion\u00ada\u00adli\u00adty sur\u00adfaced by a hyper\u00advi\u00adsor to help crea\u00adte and mana\u00adge vir\u00adtu\u00adal machi\u00adnes.
