PHOENIX<\/span>, Ari\u00adzo\u00adna, Dec. 6, 2022<\/strong> \u2013 TSMC<\/span> (TWSE<\/span>: 2330, NYSE<\/span>: TSM<\/span>) today announ\u00adced that in addi\u00adti\u00adon to TSMC<\/span> Arizona\u2019s first fab, which is sche\u00addu\u00adled to begin pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of N4<\/span> pro\u00adcess tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy in 2024, TSMC<\/span> has also star\u00adted the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of a second fab which is sche\u00addu\u00adled to begin pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of 3nm pro\u00adcess tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgy in 2026. The over\u00adall invest\u00adment for the\u00adse two fabs will be appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adate\u00adly US<\/span>$40 bil\u00adli\u00adon, repre\u00adsen\u00adting the lar\u00adgest for\u00adeign direct invest\u00adment in Ari\u00adzo\u00adna histo\u00adry and one of the lar\u00adgest for\u00adeign direct invest\u00adments in the histo\u00adry of the United States.<\/p>\n

In addi\u00adti\u00adon to the over 10,000 con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion workers who hel\u00adped with con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of the site, TSMC<\/span> Arizona\u2019s two fabs are expec\u00adted to crea\u00adte an addi\u00adtio\u00adnal 10,000 high-pay\u00ading high-tech jobs, inclu\u00adding 4,500 direct TSMC<\/span> jobs. When com\u00adple\u00adte, TSMC<\/span> Arizona\u2019s two fabs will manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adre over 600,000 wafers per year, with esti\u00adma\u00adted end-pro\u00adduct value of more than US<\/span>$40 billion.<\/p>\n

In line with TSMC<\/span>\u2019s com\u00admit\u00adment to green manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adring, it was also reve\u00ada\u00adled that TSMC<\/span> Ari\u00adzo\u00adna is in the plan\u00adning stages for an on-site Indus\u00adtri\u00adal Water Recla\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon Plant that when finis\u00adhed, will allow the TSMC<\/span> Ari\u00adzo\u00adna site to achie\u00adve near zero liquid discharge.<\/p>\n
