This plat\u00adform gives sys\u00adtem desi\u00adgners a com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsi\u00adve deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment envi\u00adron\u00adment for eva\u00adlua\u00adting, test\u00ading, and start\u00ading pro\u00adduct deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment using the OSDZU3<\/span> Sys\u00adtem-in-Packa\u00adge (SiP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Built around the AMD-Xilinx ZU3<\/span> Zynq UltraS\u00adca\u00adle+ MPSoC<\/a>, the OSDZU3<\/span> SiP inte\u00adgra\u00adtes LPDDR4<\/span>, a Fle\u00adxi\u00adble Power Sys\u00adtem, EEPROM<\/span>, Oscil\u00adla\u00adtors, and hundreds of pas\u00adsi\u00adve com\u00adpon\u00adents into a com\u00adpact 20.5mm x 40mm BGA<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The OSDZU3-REF<\/span> plat\u00adform fea\u00adtures stan\u00addard peri\u00adpherals such as 1Gb Ether\u00adnet, USB<\/span>\u2011C, Dis\u00adplay Port, and SATA<\/span>, and pro\u00advi\u00addes expan\u00adda\u00adbili\u00adty through PMOD<\/span> hea\u00adders, Mikroe Click\u2122, stan\u00addard 100Mil hea\u00adders, and an FMC<\/span> LPC<\/span> Con\u00adnec\u00adtor. It also fea\u00adtures an Onboard \u00b5USB JTAG<\/span> debug\u00adger, a \u00b5USB UART<\/span> con\u00adnec\u00adtion and access to both SYSMON<\/span> and PMBUS<\/span> through stan\u00addard 100mil connectors.<\/p>\n

Octa\u00advo Sys\u00adtems lever\u00ada\u00adged the inte\u00adgra\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00advi\u00added by the OSDZU3<\/span> SiP to crea\u00adte the OSDZU3-REF<\/span> using just four PCB<\/span> lay\u00aders with low-cost design rules. \u201cThe OSDZU3-REF<\/span> high\u00adlights the bene\u00adfits of using an Octa\u00advo SiP to sim\u00adpli\u00adfy and redu\u00adce the cost of your sys\u00adtem, \u201csays Erik Welsh, CTO<\/span> of Octa\u00advo Sys\u00adtems. \u201cWit\u00adhout the OSDZU3<\/span> SiP, this refe\u00adrence plat\u00adform would need 8 to 12 lay\u00aders with much more com\u00adplex design rules to sup\u00adport the AMD-Xilinx MPSoC, the power sys\u00adtem, and the LPDDR4<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

OSDZU3-REF<\/span> Software<\/h2>\n

Octa\u00advo Sys\u00adtems work\u00aded with Design\u00adLinx Hard\u00adware Solu\u00adti\u00adons, Inc. to gene\u00adra\u00adte the soft\u00adware used by the OSDZU3-REF<\/span>. It comes with a SD<\/span> card that is prel\u00adoa\u00added with a Linux dis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adon that has sup\u00adport for all of the peri\u00adpherals and inter\u00adfaces on the plat\u00adform, inclu\u00adding a GUI<\/span> that can be con\u00adtrol\u00adled via a key\u00adboard and mou\u00adse. It also has sup\u00adport for a Touch LVDS<\/span> dis\u00adplay and the PMOD<\/span> expan\u00adsi\u00adons imple\u00admen\u00adted in the Pro\u00adgramma\u00adble Logic.<\/p>\n

The com\u00adple\u00adte sche\u00adma\u00adtics and lay\u00adout in their nati\u00adve Eagle for\u00admat are available to free\u00adly down\u00adload from the Octa\u00advo Sys\u00adtems web\u00adsite. Also, all the pro\u00advi\u00added soft\u00adware and pro\u00adjects to gene\u00adra\u00adte the soft\u00adware is also available through free down\u00adloads. The soft\u00adware was deve\u00adlo\u00adped using the stan\u00addard AMD-Xilinx tools and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment flow.<\/p>\n
