gibts schon informationen zu opteron und athlon64 chipsätzen von via?
1. gibts nur einen chipsatz für opteron u. athlon64?
2. gibts pci-x (oder pci64/66) für opteron UND athlon64?
3. gibts integrierte raidcontroller (raid 0,1,5)?
4. gibts integrierte gbit lan karten?
5. hängen die onboard komponenten (punkt 3. u. 4. auf dem langsamen pci oder werden die endlich anders angesprochen?)
6. gibts overclocking optionen für opteron/athlon64?
1. Yes, the upcoming VIA chipset will support both Athlon64(TM) and Opteron(TM).
2. Yes - we'll be anouncing PCI-X solution for Athlon64 and Opteron at the end of the year.
3. At the moment our RAID integrated in the VT8237 southbridge supports SATA RAID 0, 1 and 0+1. No RAID 5 in the roadmap.
4. At the moment integrated GBit LAN is not on our roadmap.
5. At the moment all integrated components depend on the PCI bus.
6. This will fully depend on the motherboard makers...

hello mr Lisiecki,
That means that the 2 cpu´s share on socket?
Has something changed on the evolution of the a64? (i´ve seen pics of a64 with less pin´s and another socket)
What would be the prices of such a64 Motherboards?
thx
I'm sorry but I can't comment on AMD roadmap here...
I expect that the price of Athlon64 mainboards will be - at launch - somewhere at the range of current high-end mainboards.
