Ein sehr geniales "Dual-Package" - sprich allein der 2-fach Karton macht schwach und läßt das Herz höher schlagen ...

Umfangreiches Zubehör: 8-Sata Kabel, 8-Sata Stromstecker (4 Kabel à 2 Anschlüsse), IDE- und Floppy-Kabel, WLAN-Karte, DPS-Modul, 3 Slotblenden für weitere 6x USB, Firewire 1394a und 1394b, SLi-Bridge, einige CD's und unzählige Manuals selbst für den größten n00b.

Absolut göttlich stabile Spannungen, da wackelt nix. Präzise auf 3.3V, 12V und auch die VCore ist bis 1.75V sogar leicht am übervolten (+0.01V). Von solch stabilen Spannungen (VCore 1.65V eingestellt) träumen Asus-Nutzer in ihren kühnsten Fanatasien. Das DPS Zusatzmodul leistet wirklich exzellente Dienste.

Kein 1T Bug. Bin problemlos auf 290 MHz 2.5-4-4-8 1T gekommen, alles bestens. MemTest, Prime und SuperPI alles stabil. 3D-Betrieb ebenfalls so wie es sein muß. Mit Speicherteiler habe ich noch fix bis 320 MHz getestet, ebenfalls keine Probleme. Mehr erstmal nicht getestet, weil für mich nicht zu gebrauchen.

Unglaublich feature-reiches Bios. Außerdem vollkommen ausgereift, kein instabiles Beta-Zeugs wie beim Asus A8N SLi Deluxe, wo gelegentlich das Board beim Booten hängenbleibt. Neben den Spannungsoptionen für VCore (bis 1.75V), VDimm (2.8V), HT-Link (+0.3V) und - ganz wichtig - für Chipsatzspannung (+0.3V) stehen unzählige Tweakingoptionen für den Speicher zur Verfügung. So viele Timingoptionen hatte ich bisher bei noch keinem Board (selbst das Abit AV8 hat 2 weniger). Da kann man wahnsinnig viel optimieren und den Speicher ans absolute Limit bringen.

Für Netzwerk-Freaks: der eine GBit-LAN Controller ist native über den Chipsatz angebunden, der zweite von Marvell über PCI-Express! (beim Asus hing der nur am lahmen PCI-Bus). Sprich man hat zwei 100% vollwertige GBit-LAN Anbindungen.

Die Lüfter auf Chipsatz und DPS-Modul sind leise und stören nicht. Der Chipsatz selbst wird kaum handwarm.

Netzteilanschluß ist 24-PIN, funktioniert aber auch bestens mit 20-PIN Netzteil. Die zusätzlichen 4-PIN's sind ohnehin werksseitig mit einer kleinen Kappe abgedeckt, so daß der 24-PIN NT Betrieb wohl sehr optional ist.

Ansonsten läuft alles in Butter. Der S-ATA Controller macht mit meinen 4 Platten im RAID 0 keinerlei Probleme bis über 300 MHz. Konnte bisher noch keinerlei Probleme feststellen.
Fazit: Asus meiden. Gigabyte kaufen!

habe ein betabios von gigabyte "abgestaubt"
u.a. sind damit mehr ramteiler(fett = neu, 200, 180, 166, 150, 140, 133, 120, 100) möglich, die CPU lässt sich bei gleichem takt mit weniger spannung betreiben(stabil) b.z.w. höher takten, und T command gibt es nun "1T, 2T, Auto"(vorher 2T & Disabled).
was es sonst noch gibbet in dem bios ~ k.a. noch nicht alles durchgegangen.
