Der kostenlose Bildbetrachter Faststone Image Viewer ist heute in der Version 2.7 erschienen.
Neu ist in dieser Version, dass man die Standard Edition mit einem kostenpflichtigen Lizenzschlüssen auf die Professional Edition erweitern kann. Dadurch bekommt man Zugriff auf weitere nützliche Features. Allerdings ist auch die Standard Edition schon ein sehr mächtiges Werkzeug zur Sichtung und Sortierung von Bildern. Die Software ist eine Alternative für all diejenigen, die das Look & Feel von ACDSee mit der kostenlosen Funktionsvielfalt von <a href="http://www.irfanview.de" target="b">IrfanView</a> verbinden möchten.
FIV kann folgende Formate öffnen (jpeg, bmp, gif, png, tiff, pcx, tga, jpeg2000, psd, wmf, cur, ico) und speichern (jpeg, bmp, gif, png, tiff, pcx, tga, jpeg2000).
Auch die RAW-Formate namhafter Hersteller (Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Fuji, Minolta, Olympus, Sony, Adobe) werden unterstützt.

Der ultimative Bildbetrachter, den ich immer gesucht habe!
Mit Lanczos3-Glättung die Bildqualität von IrfanView, aber die angenehme Bedienung von ACDSee, außerdem sehr schön konfigurierbar, kostenlos; perfekt!

Na gut, Bildqualität immer noch etwas schlechter als IrfanView, aber in jedem Fall besser als ACDSee.

Hmpf, noch 'ne Einschränkung: Bilder einer guten Digicam, die deutlich größer als die Monitor-Auflösung sind, werden durch Lanczos3 zu stark geglättet. Lediglich Bilder, die kleiner als die Auflösung sind, werden qualitativ gut vergrößert.

Ja, irgendwas hat mir da auch nicht gefallen. Im Zweifelsfalle die Bildqualität.
Muß ich mir nochmal ansehen.

Nach einer guten Woche ist die Faststone-Website immer noch offline. Haben wir sie mit unseren Downloads so in die Knie gezwungen? 
Auf jeden Fall denke ich, dass es sich heutzutage keine Firma mehr leisten kann, so lange offline zu sein. Das ist sicherlich kein technisches Problem, viel mehr liegt liegt da wohl was ganz anderes im Argen.
Fazit: Auch wenn die Faststone Viewer auf den ersten Blick ganz nett aussieht (ja, ich habe noch eine Version erwischt) bin und bleibe ich bei XnView.
