Wie wir bereits am Samstag <a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/cgi-bin/newspub/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1163244436">berichteten</a> haben Systeme mit Opteron-Prozessoren in der heute vorgestellten 28. TOP500 Supercomputerliste deutlich zugenommen. Mittlerweile belegt auch der von Cray gebaute Red Storm in den Sandia National Laboratories, der Dank des Upgrades auf Dual-Core Opterons seine Leistung auf 101,4 Tflops/s in etwa verdreifachen konnte, den zweiten Platz der Liste.
Dual-Core Prozessoren sind generell auf dem Vormarsch, denn 75 Systemen mit Dual-Core Opterons stehen immerhin auch schon 31 Systeme mit Intels Woodcrest gegenüber.
