2007 International CES

LAS VEGAS -Vigor Gaming Computer, a developer of custom gaming rigs and high-end peripherals, will debut its Vigor Force Recon QX4 system, a top-end computer system based on AMD’s Quad FX4 dual-socket CPU platform at CES 2007 here.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 is powered by a pair of the AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-74 series dual-core processors, the newest addition to the award-winning AMD Athlon 64 FX processor family. AMD’s Quad FX Platform with Dual Socket Direct Connect (DSDC) Architecture is the first dual-socket, multi-core desktop PC platform designed to take advantage of the latest enhancements in Windows® Vista™ Ultimate. Systems based on this new CPU have been designed to meet the needs of enthusiasts who run multiple applications and multi-threaded games. The Force Recon QX4 is also a desired rig for post-production work, audio/video editing and content creation, streaming high-definition content, and running multi-layered business applications.

With the introduction of AMD’s DSDC architecture, Vigor customers can count on a scalable platform since the AMD Quad FX platform is designed for a seamless upgrade path to a total of eight processing cores as well as next-generation platform innovations such as high-performance, low-latency unbuffered DDR2 memory, and Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) support with compatible operating systems.

The AMD Quad FX Platform also includes the ability to host four PCI-E graphics cards, up to eight displays, 12 SATA drives, and four Gigabit Ethernet connections.

“Our newest Force Recon system will help our customers gain significant performance for megatasking,” said Aaron Chen, Chief Executive Officer at Vigor. “AMD’s Quad FX platform delivers the kind of horsepower that enthusiasts crave. The nForce® 680a media and communications processor was designed by NVIDIA to be a companion solution to the AMD Quad FX for megatasking enthusiasts. The system is also built with NVIDIA’s GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB DDR3 video card with DVI and TV Out.

Standard memory and storage includes 2GBs of Corsair DDR2 1066MHz memory (4 X 512MB), a pair of 250GB SATA II 7200 RPM hard drives with RAID Level 0 striping, an internal 16X Dual Layer DVD+/- RW + 24X CDRW rewritable optical drive with bundled DVD/CDRW software, and 1.44MB 3.5" floppy drive.
