—AMD M690 Chipset for Embedded Designs and AMD Socket S1 and AMD M690 chipset development board enable faster time-to-market for embedded designers—

Embedded Systems Conference, San Jose, Calif., — April 2, 2007 — At the Embedded Systems Conference this week, AMD (NYSE: AMD) announced the continued expansion of its embedded product offerings with the release of the AMD M690 Chipset for Embedded Designs, which provides a stable and reliable commercial embedded computing platform that includes cutting-edge graphics and performance features along with outstanding connectivity options. Supporting the availability of the AMD M690 Chipset for Embedded Designs, the company also announced the AMD Socket S1 and AMD M690 chipset development board, for high-performance capabilities with a low power envelope.
The AMD M690 chipset gives embedded system designers a choice when using the leading-edge capabilities of AMD64 technology. The AMD solution boasts graphics and enhanced video performance and numerous display and connectivity options – key capabilities for next-generation thin client, point of sale, gaming and single board computing systems, among others.

“It’s our goal to deliver superior solutions to embedded designers that encapsulate the best features available on the market,” said Greg White, vice president of AMD’s Embedded Computing Solutions Division. “By adding the AMD M690 chipset to our embedded offerings, AMD helps designers build their projects with a packaged solution to best fit their needs, while givingend customers the performance and computing power needed for their unique environments.”

The AMD Socket S1 and AMD M690 chipset development board capitalizes on the scalable power and performance options of the AMD Turion™ 64, AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core and Mobile AMD Sempron™ processors, and serves as a comprehensive evaluation and development platform for designers looking to create small form factor or graphics-centric embedded solutions. In addition to harnessing the graphics and video performance of the AMD 690 chipset, the board integrates PCI and PCI Express® expansion slots, USB 2.0, CRT/DVI/LVDS display options, high-definition audio, and gigabit Ethernet onto a standard ATX form factor board to help speed time-to-market for embedded client and single board computer designs.

Since the AMD 690 series launch on February 28, 2007, the chipsets are designed to offer an exceptional experience in today’s graphics and video applications on an integrated platform. The great combination of AMD and ATI’s capabilities for the AMD 690 chipset is innovated to integrate seamlessly with Windows Vista™ to handle the rich Aero™ user interface.1
