Nach Informationen des Marktforschungsinstituts Jon Peddie Research konnte AMD den Marktanteil der hauseigenen Grafiksparte ATI im letzten Quartal des vergangenen Jahres um knapp vier Prozentpunkte steigern.
Zugute kamen AMD dabei die deutlich gestiegenen Verkäufe vor allem im Mobil-Bereich, wo ein Zuwachs von über acht Prozentpunkten (+39%) erreicht werden konnte, während der im Desktop-Bereich erzielte Zuwachs mit anderthalb Prozentpunkten (+8,5%) nur unterdurchschnittlich war.

Dadurch, dass mit 66 Mio. Einheiten fast zwei Drittel des gesamten Grafikkartenmarktes auf den Desktop-Bereich entfallen, liegt die Gesamtsteigerung bei (immernoch beachtlichen) 19%. Die realen Verkaufszahlen sind durch das Marktwachstum um weitere acht Prozent um fast ein Viertel angestiegen.

Erschreckend wie bedeutungslos VIA und SIS geworden sind. Das die beiden potenzielle Übernahmekandidaten sind wird immer deutlicher. Und auch für Nvidia scheinen die rosigen Zeiten langsam härter zu werden.

VIA ist ja nicht eigenständig, sondern gehört der Formosa Plastics Group, ist also keiner feindlichen Übernahme ausgeliefert. Und daß der VIA-Anteil stark rückläufig ist, liegt wohl vor allem daran, daß VIA sich absichtlich aus dem Chipsatzmarkt zurückgezogen hat, die Absätze hier sind also nur wohl nur auslaufende Restverträge, die abgearbeitet werden. Aber in ihrem Bereich (UMPCs usw.) operieren die ja durchaus erfolgreich.
Und SiS hat ja immerhin 10% dazugewonnen, d.h. sie haben sich auf dem niedrigen Niveau stabilisiert und nähern sich nicht mit Riesenschritten der Null. Aber ob die auch mal Pläne hegen, wieder in irgendeinem Bereich zu wachsen, weiß ich nicht. Als Übernahmekandidat für einen Konkurrenten wäre SiS wohl nicht so interessant, die haben ja nichts, was die andern nicht hätten, und als Gefahr muß Nvidia sie auch nicht beseitigen. Ich persönlich bin sehr zufriden mit der Kombi HD3470+ Amd780G.
Ich habe 2x TFT dran (1680x1050) + da ich den PC im Wohnzimmer habe einen Plasma über HDMI. Es klappt alles Reibungslos. Ich kann den Sound am Fernseher über den HDMI ohne Probleme weitergeben und den Rest über die normal Soundkarte. Bildqualität ist top. Vista Aero+ DVD+ DVB-S ohne Probleme gleichzeitig. Dazu wird die HD3470 nciht sodnerlich warm. Die Onboard 3200 reicht locker für einen HTPC da über HDMI die Töne Digital zu einem Digitalverstärker geschickt werden können. ICh denke im HTPC Bereich ist langfristig ein großer Marktanteil da es auch viele Leute gibt die sowas gerne Stromsparend auch in adneren Räumen hätten wie z.b. in der Küche. Halt Internet statt Zeitung. ICh denke der Weg den AMD geht ist langfristig richtig. Wenn es möglich wäre wäre bei mir in der Küche schon ein Monitor mit einem Netbook. Ich habe heutzutage schon nur einen PC der für alles da ist. PC+VV+Boxen+Monitore für Plasma+CD+MP3+Internet+Gamen+DVB-S+Festplattenrecorder+PC!!!!. wenn man mal ausrechnet wieviel Geld Freunde von mir für die einzelnen Geräte ausgeben damit sie alles haben kommt schon was zusammen.

Joar stimmt schon. Hab nen Homeserver mit kleinem Sempron LE-1100 und 690G. Taktet sich im Idle auf 800MHz @0.85V runter. Durch die 690G aber auch gleichzeitig als HTPC in Benutzung. Selbst 720p ist mit WMV HD oder mp4 problemlos möglich. Also in dem Bereich hat AMD was in der Hand

Und hier sieht man mehr als deutlich, warum NV eigene CPUs braucht - der Mobil Markt ist so plattformabhängig, das hier NV mittelfristig gesehen komplett verdrängt werden könnte...
Und das VIA da soviel weniger werden würde, war auch klar, schließlich hat VIA momentan keinen einzigen IGP mehr für Desktop auf dem Markt. Das war bis vor Kurzem noch anders.
