Shuttle AK31 "AK35GTR Mod"
Bei <a href="http://www.vr-zone.com/#2134" TARGET="b">VR-Zone</a> wird von einem User berichet, der sich mit der Modifikation eines Shuttle AK31 Rev. 3.1 befasst. Ziel des "Projekts" ist es, das Vorgängermodell mit den Overclocking-Features vom AK35GTR auszustatten. Ausgangspunkt des Experiments war demnach das Flashen des AK35GTR BIOS auf das AK31. Hier ein Auszug aus seinem Bericht:
<ul><i>Good points:
<li>Seems to work fine as long as my cpu isn't overclocked.</li>
<li>CPU voltage was adjustable above 1.85v I tested to 1.95v with positive results.</li>
<li>FSB speed of 167 posted correctly (settings allow up to to 200MHz)</li>
<li>Non overclocked benchmarks were better (more aggressive timings) and equaled 8kha+ and AK35GTR benches. As a baseline Sandra's Arithmetic test scored about the same.</li>
Bad points :
<li>CPU Overclocking was less stable. Though I was able to post at 7x167 and run Sandra at 10x133, my TBird1.2 would not run 3dm2k1se reliably above 1250 at any FSB speed or attempted voltage. There may be some hardware differences or maybe the bios doesn't like TBirds. This bird normally runs at 1340 at 141FSB 1.75v.</li>
<li>12v line as monitored by bios varied ALOT more than it used to and would change by as much as .5v per second (11.6v to 12.1v).</li>
<li>The bios still limits you to 2.7v on Memory, though it looks like you have that covered
</li>
<li>It doesn't cause a CMedia or RAID chip to materialize on your board and (I would assume) AC97 doesn't work afterwards.</li></i></ul>
