Das freie Chatprogramm Pidgin wurde in der Version 2.5.8 veröffentlicht. Seit der letzten Version wurden einige Fehler behoben.
Pidgin unterstützt derzeit folgende Protokolle: <ul><li>AIM</li><li>Bonjour</li><li>Gadu-Gadu</li><li>Google Talk</li><li>Groupwise</li><li>ICQ</li><li>IRC</li><li>MSN</li><li>MySpaceIM</li><li>QQ</li><li>SILC</li><li>SIMPLE</li><li>Sametime</li><li>XMPP</li><li>Yahoo!</li><li>Zephyr</li></ul><strong>Changelog 2.5.7 zu 2.5.8:</strong><ul><li>ICQ<ul><li style="font-size: smaller;">Fix misparsing a web message as an SMS message.
