Der freie Multi-Messenger Miranda IM wurde in der neuen Version 0.8.13 veröffentlicht. Mit dem Programm lassen sich die Protokolle vieler Instant Messanger nutzen, natürlich auch gleichzeitig. Unterstützt werden u.a. AIM, Gadu-Gadu, ICQ, Jabber, MSN und Yahoo, desweiteren ist ein IRC-Client integriert. Die Grundversion ist recht simpel gehalten, lässt sich aber durch Plugins aufhübschen und um weitere Funktionen ergänzen. Eine aktuelle deutsche Sprachdatei für das Programm gibt es <a href="http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewfile&id=4066" target="b">hier</a>.
Die neue Version behebt einige Fehler, die u.a. die Stabilität beeinträchtigten und unterstützt nun auch ICQ 7.
Miranda IM läuft unter Windows ab Windows 95, dabei ist die ANSI-Version für Win9x und die Unicode-Version ab Windows NT vorgesehen.
