ALSA + Sb AWE 64...seltsames Verhalten

Hiho,
hab mir vorhin mal für die Sb AWE 64 die ich hier hab, ein Alsa kompiliert und installiert, und die Module auch geladen, geht alles wunderbar, mit --with-isapnp gelinkt, und isapnp liefert auch überall schöne Werte über die Hardware inklusive aller Adresse, alle Module lädt er auch problemlos, nur kommt kein Ton aus der Karte.
XMMS gibt den Standardfehler aus, dass die Soundkarte nicht installiert sei,
allerdings kann ich eine Datei nach /dev/dsp (alsa-oss-emu ist auch geladen) 'cat'ten und es verhält sich normal aber Sound kommt trotzdem nicht.
Wenn die Module nicht geladen sind, funktioniert das cat wie erwartet nicht, irgendwie weiss ich nichtmehr weiter, auch das Kernel OSS läuft nicht.

ARGH ich werd Wahnsinnig, die Anschlüsse der Karte sind nicht richtig beschriftet, allerdings warum geht dann ein cat x.wav > /dev/dsp und mpg123 auch aber xmms meckert rum?
kennt jemand ein woody backport für xmms, OHNE X und den andern schnulli?

Ähh, kann man xmms überhaupt ohne X bauen? Ich habe in den configure Optionen nichts dergleichen gefunden.

ich kenne den Sinn eines Backports, mir ging es allerdings um eine möglichst bequeme Installation des AlsaPlugins von xmms,eine Datei kopieren reicht, aber die braucht man ja uch erstmal...
wie gesagt die backports die ich auf apt-get.org gefunden habe (ja ich kenne die seite) waren nicht das was ich wollte.
