Hi!
Ich habe das Board jetzt schon eine kleine Weile und
natürlich auch schon ein Paar Probleme.
1)
Es scheint wohl bei mir so zu sein, dass der Digital-
Input/ Output -Teil meines Exemplares defekt ist.
Der S/PDIF Ausgang wird von der Software (Treiber)
gar nicht erkannt und der Eingang produziert Störungen,
auch im analogen Teil. (EPOX Support meinte ich solle
es einschicken)

Desweiteren, für mich viel entscheidender, Cool'n Quiet
geht nur mit einem einzigem Ram Riegel zuverlässig. Es
soll wohl hier und da auch mit 2en gehen, aber das ist
bei weitem nicht die Regel! Bei mir führt die Aktivierung
unmittelbar zu einem FREEZ! (Aber im Übrigen mein einziger
Absturz mit dem Board bisher)
Jetzt das Gute:
Eigentlich alle andere! Sehr gutes Handbuch, gutes Bios,
richtig schneller Support. Schnell und stabil würde ich es
charakterisieren. Ich nutze derzeit den im Chipsatz
integrierten RAID und muss sagen der geht ab wie Rettich =)
Die Firewall ist ziemlich gediegen, ging bei mir auf anhieb
mit Opera zu konfigurieren. Und man kann eigentlich alles
einstellen, weit mehr als ich von meinem Router gewohnt bin.
Die onboard Lüftersteuerung ist auch sehr nett zusammen mit
der Funtktion den PC bei einer gewissen Temp. herunter zu
fahren. Erstaunt hat mich ein wenig, dass er bei mir sogar
am Anfang den CPU- Lüfter ganz ausschaltet! Wenn da jetzt
C&Q funktionieren würde hätte ich vielleicht eine passiv
gekühlte A64 CPU.
Bei mir läuft übrigens ein C0 3200+ mit 1MB Cache mit 40
oder 35 Grad, je nach dem wie ich die Lüftersteuerung im
Bios einstelle.
Das ganze zur Zeit bei standart Spannungen mit 205 MHz
Ramtakt bei 2/3/3/6/1 Command Rate und 2050 Mhz Cpu.

hier das aktuellste BIOS und die änderungen sowie erfahrungen:
Hersteller changelog:
1) Fehlerbeseitigung: Anschalten des MB nach CMOS-Clear und Stromausfall.
2) Fehlerbeseitigung: Probleme bei CPU-Einstellungen
3) Aktualisierung vom nVidia SATA RAID ROM auf Version 4.42
Erfahrungen: unbedingt flashen, da bei mir ein CMOS clear notwendig war, auf grund eines jetzt hier nicht relevanten problems.
nach dem CMOS clear, war warum auch immer, BIOS ROM checksum error, obwohl ich nichts falsch gemacht haben kann,
habe auch jahrelange erfahrungen, so dass es nicht an unwissenheit oder dummheit gescheitert ist.
normalerweise kann man ja das BIOS wieder "heil"flashen, aber komischerweise konnte ich im awdflash kein keyboard benutzen, reagierte nicht auf eingaben....falls ich mehr weiß oder eine lösung finde, werde ich berichten.
<--- lösung: ähm keine lust große erklärungen zu machen, aber wenn nix mehr zu gehen scheint, dann einfach ne PCI grafikkarte reinschieben und dann kommt man auch in der regel ins BIOS....und der PC besitzt doch ein eigenleben ^^

Bin mit dem Board auch soweit zufrieden, nur ein Kondensator beim AGP pfeift leider fröhlich vor sich hin, deswegen denke ich, werde ich es wieder zurückbringen.
Die Lüftersteuerung funktioniert recht gut und ist ne gute Idee
Einen Kritikpunkt muss ich noch zum BIOS loswerden: Es bietet keine Undervoltingfunktionen und scheint meinen Prozesssor standardmässig zu übervolten.
Abgesehen von diesen 2 Mankos ist das Board absolut klasse, auch wenn es meiner Meinung nach einfach zu teuer ist, vor allem ggü. Dem da:

Ich kann von diesem Mainboard nur abraten - ich hatte es etwa einen Monat lang u. habe es mittlerweile in ein anderes Mainboard getauscht.
Das waren meine Probleme:
- kein Cool'n'Quiet mit zwei doppelseitigen Speichermodulen
- mit neueren BIOS-Versionen (getestet bis BIOS-Version vom 02.09.2004) massive Spannungsprobleme - habe beispielweise eine VCore von 1.7V im BIOS eingestellt, tatsächlich aber nur etwa 1.63V bekommen (starke Spannungen gab es bei mir nur mit dem BIOS vom 14.05.2004)
- nachlässiger Support: habe oft detaillierte Fehlerbeschreibungen verfasst u. an den deutschen Support geschickt, als Antwort eigentlich immer nur das neueste BIOS bekommen, welches ich manchmal sogar schon hatte! Sollte wohl als Lösung dienen, welche nie eine war.
Ich habe jetzt das Abit KV8 Pro-3rd Eye (VIA K8T800 Pro) Mainboard u. bin damit absolut zufrieden - hier funktioniert einfach alles! Lediglich die Temperaturen werden (noch) nicht richtig ausgelesen, was aber bald gefixed wird u. sicherlich kein störendes Problem darstellt.

Habe das Board vor einigen Wochen als Ersatz für ein Gigabyte K8NS gebraucht gekauft, weitere Komponenten des Systems:
Sempron64 2800+
1024 MB RAM (512 MB DS, 2x 256 MB SS MDT DDR400)
Radeon 9700
WLAN-Karte PCI
2x HD (IDE)
DVD-RW, DVD
Fortron FSP300-THN-P ATX2.0 Netzteil
Insgesamt bin ich einigermaßen zufrieden mit dem Board, es läuft stabil mit einem Referenztakt von 250 MHz (CPU limitiert). Allerdings weist es für meinen Geschmack ein paar Unstimmigkeiten zu viel auf.
Positiv:
- Port80-Anzeige
- CPU-Lüftersteuerung
- Übertaktungsoptionen sind alle vorhanden.
Negativ:
- Auf meinem Board war ein aktiver, lärmender Chipsatzkühler (wie auf den nForce4- Brettern) installiert. Durch großen Passivkühler ersetzt.
- Der gesamte Chipsatzbereich wird sehr heiß. Strombedarf des Boards scheint insgesamt relativ hoch.
- ATX-Anschluss ist seitlich "zugebaut", d.h. kein Platz für den 24-poligen Stecker eines neuen ATX 2.x Netzteils (welches ich verwenden musste, weil das Board bei Einbau aller Komponenten mit verschiedenen ATX 1.3 Netzteilen ein fürchterliches Fiepen produzierte).
- IDE + Floppy-Anschlüsse sitzen sehr weit unten.
- VCore wird nicht korrekt angezeigt (1,5 V, gemessen 1,4 V)
- Kein Untervolten möglich (beim neuesten Beta-BIOS von Dez. 2006 werden auch keine niedrigeren Spannungen als die Standard VCore mehr angeboten).
Update:
Scheint so, als ob der nForce3 250 etwas neuere Samsung SATA(2)-Festplatten nicht auf Anhieb mag. Eine P120er verzögerte den Windows-Start sehr stark, SATA(1)-Jumper setzen nutzte nichts. Am SI-Controller gibt's keine Probleme. Eine S250er lief standardmäßig grottenlahm, sie musste per Software umgestellt werden, seitdem läuft sie bestens. Eine Excelstor J8160S hingegen tat ihren Dienst von Anfang an.
