Die BOINC-Software wurde für Windows in der Version 6.10.36 veröffentlicht. BOINC ist eine Clientsoftware für sehr viele Distributed Computing Projekte. Diese werden damit standardisiert unter einen Hut gebracht und können bequem über den BOINC-Manager gesteuert werden. Der neue Client hält viele Verbesserungen in Bezug auf CPU/GPU-Erkennung, Scheduling, Feature-Erkennung und Ergonomie/Bedienung bereit.
BOINC für Windows läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000 - sowohl auf den 32Bit als auch den 64Bit Versionen, Mac OS X 10.4.0+ und Linux x86/x64.

Gehört hier vielleicht nicht hin aber ich steige wieder auf 6.6.38 um, denn Boinc fragt jetzt seit 2h nicht mehr nach CPU-WUs, bei vier verschieden Projekten, die ich alle zurückgesetzt habe.
Auch wird mir im tray gemeldet, dass Boinc angehalten wurde, wurde es aber nicht!
Naja da scheint es Verbesserungsbedarf zu geben.

Na denn wenn das so ist, wollte ich bekannt geben, dass meine 3870 regulär von BOINC für Milkyway@home genutzt wird.Klar, Kommentare bzw. Erfahrungsberichte sind ausdrücklich erwünscht.
Das Tempo ist schon derb. 10min auf der Grafikkarte und mehrere Stunden auf der CPU.
Allerdings scheint der Client öfter mal einzufrieren bzw. das System derart zu belasten, dass andere Anwendungen nicht mehr reagieren.

In der neuen Version ist unter den Einstellungen ein neuer Punkt hinzugekommen:
While processor usage is less than 25 percent (0 means no restriction)
Das heißt, wenn man das nicht ändert, dann hält Boinc selbständig das Rechnen bei einer CPU Last größer 25% an. Was allerdings bei normaler Nutzung des Rechners bei mir fast immer der Fall wäre.

Mittlerweile finde ich diese neue Einstellmöglichkeit richtig gut. Somit muß ich nicht, wenn ich etwas CPU-lastiges am Rechner mache, Boinc anhalten.

Wieso musste man da je tun? BOINC Tasks haben Leerlauf-Priorität, die ordnen sich jeder Anwendung unter...

Ich hatte aber z.B. beim Enkodieren das Problem, daß das mit niedriger Priorität lief und Boinc das ganze ausbremste. Stellte ich aber den Enkodierprozeß auf normal dann waren alle anderen Anwendungen verlangsamt in ihrer Reaktionszeit. Somit ist das für mich ne angenehme Sache. Allerdings hab ich noch nix wieder enkodiert, um es auszuprobieren.

ich hab seit ein paar Tagen ein problem mit Boinc. Die Boinc.exe frisst extrem viel CPU-Zeit. 9 Stunden in 74 Stunden Laufzeit (*4 cores) des Rechners... (macht also rund 3% aus).
Jedenfalls hängt auch öfter der Rechner und zwar so schlimm dass auch der Mauszeiger sich 1-2 Sekunden lang nicht mehr bewegt.

kann ich voll und ganz bestätigen, musste auch immer die Resourcennutzung runterregeln wenn ich x264 codiert habe oder zocken wollte. Selbst manuelle Prios gesetzt per Processlasso (alles Boincseitige auf IDLE und x264 etc. auf high) konnte das Problem nicht lösen. Denke das hängt dann eher am Windows-Scheduler als an Boinc selbst.

kann ich voll und ganz bestätigen, musste auch immer die Resourcennutzung runterregeln wenn ich x264 codiert habe oder zocken wollte. Selbst manuelle Prios gesetzt per Processlasso (alles Boincseitige auf IDLE und x264 etc. auf high) konnte das Problem nicht lösen. Denke das hängt dann eher am Windows-Scheduler als an Boinc selbst.

wenn nach einem reboot des Systems alles normal läuft und der Fehler erst nach Stunden auftritt, takte mal die CPU wieder etwas runter.

also ich kann letzteres definitiv nachvollziehen - und zwar ohne Berechnungsfehler - die Zeit eines Threed geht dann z.B. von 25 Min auf 20 Std.

ja dies wird wohl stimmen - ist es dann aber normal, dass allte Kerne und Threads im Taskmanager voll ausgelastet bleiben und die Temps sich auch nirgends ändern?

Auf der Startseite von Boinc ist unter den Nachrichten immer noch die Meldung von der Veröffentlichung der 6.10.37 Version die Rede. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/
Find ich echt ein bißchen merkwürdig. Die eine Hand weiß nicht was die andere tut. Und wenn es bekannte Probleme mit dieser Version gibt, dann sollten die die auch nicht als Development version anbieten imho.
