Ist dieses "FRC" in der Geizhals-Angabe zu den Bit denn etwas Wichtiges oder Häufiges? Ich nahm an, das hat mit Frame Rate Control im Sinne von AMDs FRTC oder anderen Frame-Limitern nicht viel zu tun. Die englische Wikipedia besagt:
Most TN panels represent colors using only 6 bits per RGB color, or 18 bit in total, and are unable to display the 16.7 million color shades (24-bit truecolor) that are available from graphics cards. Instead, they use a dithering method that combines adjacent pixels to simulate the desired shade.

FRC is a form of temporal dithering which cycles between different color shades with each new frame to simulate an intermediate shade. This can create a potentially noticeable 30 Hz flicker. FRC tends to be most noticeable in darker tones, while dithering appears to make the individual pixels of the LCD visible.

Daher hielt ich es eher für einen Spezialfall.

FRC ist eine Interpolation der Farben, wie du schon in deinem Zitat richtig erkannt hast. Viele Hersteller geben gerne die nächst höhere Farbtiefe an, wenn sie diese Technik nutzen, also 6bit + FRC = 8bit, 8bit + FRC = 10bit... Ist an der Stelle gemogelt, da FRC keine 2bit Tiefe rausholt, evtl. ein halbes. Daher immer die Angaben beachten.
 
Demnach ist die "mit FRC"-Angabe das Wesentliche und man greift beim Einkauf am besten gleich an FRC-Monitoren vorbei.
