RS500A-E10-RS12U with AMD EPYC 7742 processor achieves multiple highest scores for compute-intensive applications

TAIPEI, Taiwan, October 9, 2019 ASUS, a leading server system, server motherboard, workstation and workstation motherboard provider, today announced that the ASUS RS500A-E10-RS12U server with 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ 7742 processors achieved the highest scores across multiple benchmarks for compute-intensive applications, according to the latest results released on September 18, 2019 by the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC).

These new scores represent another impressive achievement in leadership server performance for ASUS since recently setting a total of 246 world records for the fastest 1P and 2P server performance. These achievements across multiple platforms demonstrate that ASUS servers are an ideal, highly scalable choice for infrastructure visualization, data analysis, AI training workloads and compute-intensive applications.

Unbeatable performance with the AMD EPYC 7742 processor

The recent record-setting performance results are based on an ASUS RS500A-E10-RS12U server with the highest specification of AMD EPYC 7002 series processors. The AMD EPYC 7742 processor features 64 cores, 128 threads, a 256 MB cache as well as 225 watts of thermal design power (TDP), clock speeds of up to 3.4 GHz and optimizations to deliver the best performance with any application. RS500A-E10-RS12U holds eight records for single-socket benchmarks across the following SPEC CPU® 2017 benchmark packages: SPECfp 2017, SPECfp 2017 rate, SPECint 2017, and SPECint 2017.
  • No. 1 SPECrate 2017 Integer Rate Base
  • No. 1 SPECrate 2017 Integer Rate Peak
  • No. 1 SPECrate 2017 Floating Point Rate Base
  • No. 1 SPECrate 2017 Floating Point Rate Peak
  • No. 1 SPECspeed 2017 Integer Rate Base
  • No. 1 SPECspeed 2017 Integer Rate Peak
  • No. 1 SPECspeed 2017 Floating Point Rate Base
  • No. 1 SPECspeed 2017 Floating Point Rate Peak
RS500A-E10-RS12U server with enhanced I/O, storage and connectivity

Ideal for datacenters and HPC applications, RS500A-E10-RS12U is a compact 1U server with two PCIe® 4.0 x16 and x8 slots for storage, graphics and networking expansion cards. It delivers up to 225 watts of thermal design power (TDP). To meet larger bandwidth demands for faster data transfers, RS500A-E10-RS12U supports up to 100 gigabits per second (Gbps) or higher networking speeds via an OCP 2.0 Mezzanine card, so it can connect to more nodes and clusters. RS500A-E10-RS12U also fits up to 12 NVMe™ solutions in a 1U chassis, delivering 32 Gbps higher input/ output operations per second (IOPS) and lower latency than SATA and SAS drives.
