AMD hat das ATI Stream Software Development Kit (SDK) v2.0 nun nach längerer Beta-Phase als Produktionsversion fertiggestellt. Das Kit unterstützt Entwickler bei der Erstellung von Software auf Basis der ATI Stream Technologie.
Neben der Unterstützung von OpenCl 1.0 bietet man auch den Ausblick auf Funktionen wie die Interoperabilität von OpenCL und OpenGL:
"Interoperability between OpenCL™ and OpenGL®allows developers to pass computed data from an OpenCL™ kernel directly to the OpenGL® programming interface for rendering on the display. By passing the data directly to the OpenGL® programming interface, the developer can avoid unnecessary transferring of data across the PCIe® link, potentially resulting in improved overall application performance."

Auch für den aktuellen ATI Catalyst 9.12 hat AMD wieder einen AGP Hotfix veröffentlicht. Nutzer einer AGP-Karte der 2000er, 3000er und 4000er Radeon Serien, die mit dem normalen Treiber nur die Fehlermeldung "No compatible hardware found" zu lesen bekommen, benötigen diesen Treiber um ihre Karte richtig installieren zu können.
Der Treiber steht für Windows ab Windows XP zur Verfügung.
Hinweis: AMD hat zwar die richtigen Dateien verlinkt, jedoch heißen die Links fälschlicherweise noch "Catalyst 9.11 Hotfix..."
AMD hat seinen ATI Catalyst 9.12 um einen Hotfix erweitert. Dieser beseitigt ein Problem, durch das der Mauszeiger unter Windows 7 zufällig vergrößert wird, verbessert die Leistung von OpenGL-Spielen und bringt Unterstützung für Eyefinity mittels CrossFireX sowie Unterstützung für OpenCL mit sich.
Der Hotfix steht für Windows ab Windows XP und für Linux zur Verfügung.

Die kostenlosen ATI Tray Tools von Ray Adams (guru3D) sind in der Version 1.6.9.1447 als Beta verfügbar. Das besonders für Übertakter geignete Programm richtet sich, wie der Name schon sagt, im Tray ein. Von da aus lassen sichen alle Funktionen ausführen und Einstellungen vornehmen. die ATT können auch als CCC-Ersatz verwendet werden.
Die ATI Tray Tools laufen unter Windows ab Windows 2000. Das letzte stable Release ist Version 1.3.6.1042 vom 22. Mai 2007 und steht auch unter "Download" zur Verfügung.

This release of ATI Catalyst™ supports the new Hardware Acceleration features of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta for video encoded in the H.264 format. Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta introduces hardware-based H.264 video decoding to deliver smooth video playback, reduce system resource utilization, and preserve battery life. Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta is expected to be available for download from Adobe Labs (labs.adobe.com) before the end of the year. This feature is supported on the ATI Radeon HD 5800, ATI Radeon HD 5700 and ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series of products.
High Quality downscaling for video transcoding MSE
This release of ATI Catalyst™ includes an enhancement for the ATI Video converter for users transcoding high quality interlaced content (1920x1080i @60i videos) down to small resolution progressive content (320x240 @30p - iPod videos as an example), by maintaining high visual quality when down-scaling by a significant amount and converting interlaced video content to progressive.

AMD hat zwei Technologie-Demos für Grafikkarten der ATI Radeon HD 5800er Serie bereitgestellt, die die Fähigkeiten der neuen Karten demonstrieren sollen. Die Demos setzen außerdem Windows 7, ATI Catalyst™ 9.9 oder höher, einen Dual- oder Quad-Core Prozessor und mindestens 2 GB Hauptspeicher voraus. Super Sample Anti-Aliasing for the ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
ATI Catalyst 9.10 provides support for a new Anti-Aliasing method on the ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series. Users can now experience the high level of anti-aliasing image quality using Super Sampling anti-aliasing while maintaining good performance levels.

Der offizielle CATALYST 9.10 für ATI Radeon Grafikkarten lässt noch ein wenig auf sich warten. Angesichts der bereits veröffentlichten neuen Grafikkarten der 5800er und 5700er hat AMD jedoch einen Treiber zum Download bereitgestellt, der offenbar auf den 13. Oktober 2009 datiert ist:

Laut User-Meldung funktioniert er aber wohl auch mit den übrigen Radeon-Modelle, die nicht als Legacy-Karten eingestuft sind
"Raider heißt jetzt Twix sonst ändert sich nix". So oder so ähnlich kommt das Programm "AMD Fusion Utility for Desktops" in der Version 1.1.1 daher, bei dem es sich anscheinend um das frühere AMD-Tool "Fusion for Gaming" handelt und das AMD nun im Rahmen der neuen Mainstream Plattform als "experience enhancement" anpreist.
Neben einer deutlich veränderten Oberfläche und einigen neuen Profilen, die nun auch deutsche Bezeichnungen besitzen, erfährt man allerdings nichts über eventuelle Änderungen an dieser Version.
Auch der Download auf der "AMD Fusion For Gaming"-Webseite verweist auf die AMD Fusion Utility for Desktops 1.1.1 Version, ohne über den neuen Namen oder etwaige Veränderungen in Form von Release Notes aufzuklären.
Das Utility tritt mit dem Ziel an, die maximale Performance aus einem PC herausholen zu wollen. Dazu kann das Tool, das mindestens einen AMD Prozessor voraussetzt, mit auswählbaren und konfigurierbaren Profilen die Einstellungen des PCs beeinflussen.
Innerhalb dieser Profile können auch Einstellungen für AMD OverDrive (Voraussetzung ist ein AMD 700er Chipsatz) und den ATI Catalyst (eine ATI Grafikkarte vorausgesetzt) vorgegeben werden, solange man über die entsprechende Hardware verfügt und die entsprechende Software installiert hat.
In einem kurzen Test hat die Aktivierung des Profils "Energieeffizienz" dazu geführt, dass neben Hintergrundprozessen von Windows auch Programme wie BOINC, Avira Antivir und ein IRC-Programm (mit Beendigungsabfrage) geschlossen wurden.
