17:21 - Autor: Dr@Das Standard-Programm zur Darstellung von PDF-Dateien, der Reader von Adobe, hat heute ein Sicherheits-Update auf die Version 9.4.1 erfahren. Das Update behebt kritische Sicherheitslücken, die den Reader zum Absturz bringen können oder gar Angreifern erlauben, die Kontrolle über das betroffene System zu übernehmen. Da die Sicherheitslücken bereits aktiv genutzt werden, wird von Adobe zu einer sofortigen Aktualisierung geraten. Am einfachsten kann die Aktualisierung über die integrierte Update-Funktion bezogen werden. Als nächster regulärer Patchday wurde von Adobe Dienstag der 8. Februar 2011 festgelegt.Das PDF-Format wird inzwischen erheblich für Angriffe auf User verwendet, indem kompromittierender Schadcode in die Dateien eingefügt wird. Laut Erhebungen des Anti-Viren Software-Herstellers F-Secure im Sommer des letzten Jahres soll das PDF-Format mittlerweile sogar der Träger Nummer 1 sein, wenn es darum geht Schadcode "an den Mann zu bringen". Der aktuelle Adobe Reader läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000 SP4, Mac OS X und Linux/UNIX. Eine schlanke Alternative ist Foxit Reader.

00:56 - Autor: Dr@Adobe hat für den Flash Players 10.1 ein Sicherheitsupdate veröffentlicht. Mit der Version 10.1.102.64 stopft das Unternehmen 18 Sicherheitslücken, die als kritisch eingestuft wurden. Einige Sicherheitslöcher können zu Abstürzen führen oder ermöglichen sogar potentiellen Angreifern, die Kontrolle über das System zu erlangen. Da bereits Berichte über eine aktive Nutzung der Schwachstelle CVE-2010-3654 im Flash Player existieren, empfiehlt das Unternehmen die sofortige Installation des Updates. Diese Schwachstelle betrifft auch den Adobe Reader und Adobe Acrobat, für die allerdings noch keine Updates vorliegen. Diese sollen 15. November nachgereicht werden.Für ältere Betriebssysteme, die vom Adobe Flash Player 10.1 nicht unterstützt werden, bietet Adobe ebenfalls eine aktualisierte Version des Adobe Flash Player 9 zum Download an. Der Player integriert sich als Plugin in die Browser Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera und Safari und wird zur Darstellung von Flash-gestützten Internet-Seiten benötigt, auf denen Flash-Animationen oder in Flash eingebettete Mediadateien, wie z.B. die Videos bei YouTube, bereitgestellt werden. Nutzer des Google Chrome bekommen die jeweils aktuelle Version (Chrome 6.0.472.62) des Flash Players über die in den Browser integrierte automatische Updatefunktion ausgeliefert. Eine manuelle Installation ist also nicht notwendig. Wer seine aktuell installierte Version überprüfen will, kann das hier tun. Zu den wichtigsten neuen Features des Flash Players 10.1 gehört neben der verbesserten Speicherverwaltung und einer allgemein gesteigerten Performance vor allem die H.264-Videobeschleunigung mit Hilfe unterstützter GPUs und Hardware-Videodecoder. Die korrekte Funktion der GPU-Beschleunigung setzt einen aktuellen Grafiktreiber voraus. Seit der Version 10.1.82.76 ist die H.264-Beschleunigung nicht mehr auf Windows beschränkt. Besitzer von Macintosh-Rechnern können ab Mac OS X 10.6.3 dieses Feature ebenfalls nutzen, wenn die verwendete Grafikkarte vom "Apple Video Decode Acceleration Framework" unterstützt wird. Das trifft aktuell nur auf die Modelle NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 320M und GeForce GT 330M zu. Der Flash Player 10.1 unterstützt aktuell die H.264-Videobeschleunigung auf folgenden GPUs:

- 9.4: While Roaming Profiles are not officially supported, a related workflow has been enabled. In previous releases, when using Acrobat or Reader with a roaming profile where the folder is redirected to a server share, the application crashed with a C++ runtime error if the user did not have the right permissions on their folder. Because the PDF viewing application also looked at all of the target folder’s parent folders, the crash also occurred if any of those parent folders did not have the requisite permissions. 03:29 - Autor: KIDHNachdem Adobe bereits vor knapp zwei Wochen einen Patch auf Version 9.3.4 für seinen kostenlosen Adobe Reader - dem Standard-Programm zur Darstellung von PDF-Dateien - veröffentlicht hat, gibt es diese Version nun auch als Vollinstallation für Windows und Mac OS X, für letzteres leider nur auf Englisch. Für Linux und Solaris gab es diese schon damals.Der aktuelle Adobe Reader läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000 SP4, Mac OS X und Linux/UNIX. Eine schlanke Alternative ist Foxit Reader.

Due to Foxit's concern that this message may mislead users to take an unadvisable action, Foxit Reader will no longer display the content of the message and removes any parameters within the Pop-up message that can be manipulated by the PDF.

05:14 - Autor: KIDHDas Standard-Programm zur Darstellung von PDF-Dateien, der Reader von Adobe, ist in der Version 9.3 erschienen. Auch die Vorgängerversion wurde auf 8.2 aktualisiert. Das Update behebt acht, teils kritische, Sicherheitslücken. Das PDF-Format wird inzwischen erheblich für Angriffe auf User verwendet, indem kompromittierender Schadcode in die Dateien eingefügt wird. Laut Erhebungen des Anti-Viren Software-Herstellers F-Secure im Sommer des letzten Jahres soll das PDF-Format mittlerweile sogar der Träger Nummer 1 sein, wenn es darum geht Schadcode "an den Mann zu bringen".Der aktuelle Adobe Reader läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000 SP4, Mac OS X und Linux/UNIX. Eine schlanke Alternative ist Foxit Reader.

Recommended action: If a server process is receiving and parsing the attachments, look for either a ".tmp" or a ".xml" extension.
