Though general demand appears to be slackening in August, buying sentiment in the European clone market has continued rising, motherboard manufacturers said. Boosted by the business, AMD-based motherboards, which are usually much favored in the sector, are enjoying a rise in market share. However, as the AMD platform has still not gained much presence in the OEM market, board makers estimate that the overall share of the K7 products has stayed below 20%. Pentium 4 motherboards, on the other hand, should have more than 50% of the market with climbing shipments.
