AMD mit drei neuen Opteron Modellen

Mit den neuen Dual-Core Opteron Modellen 885, 285 und 185 sieht AMD sich in seiner Vorherrschaft bei den Multi-Core Prozessoren bestätigt.

Der AMD Opteron 885 und 285 sind ab sofort zu einem Preis von 2.149 bzw. 1.051 US-Dollar erhältlich, den AMD Opteron 185 will man innerhalb der nächsten 30 Tage zu einem nicht genannten Preis verfügbar machen. Dementsprechend sind die beiden erstgenannten in AMDs offizieller Preisliste bereits zu finden.

Da man die 1xx Modelle bei AMD nicht mehr für den Retailmarkt vorsieht, hat man sich anscheinend entschlossen, nach der vor kurzem erfolgten Preisanhebung bei diesen Prozessoren, die Preise gar nicht mehr anzugeben. In der Preisliste erscheint stattdessen nur ein *.

Sowohl IBM, als auch Sun und HP kündigen einen Einsatz dieser Prozessoren in ihren Produktfamilien an und äußern sich wie folgend:
