Realtek hat mit der Version 2.28 ein neues Treiberpaket für seine High Definition Audio-Codecs veröffentlicht. HDA-Soundchips aus Realteks ALC88x Serie sind z.B. auf vielen AM2, aktuellen AM2+ und neuen AM3 Mainboards anzutreffen und bieten 8-Kanal High Definition Sound. Seit der Version 2.25 ist nun auch ein WHQL-Treiber für Microsofts Windows 7 vorhanden. Zudem wurde der HDMI-Treiber aktualisiert, der auf vielen ATI Radeon Grafikkarten für die Sound-Ausgabe am HDMI-Anschluss verantwortlich ist.
