Die freie Brennsoftware InfraRecorder ist in der Version 0.51 verfügbar. Sie unterstützt u. a. das Brennen von CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays und HD-DVDs. Mit einer sinnvollen Auswahl an Features bieten die Entwickler eine schlanke und gute Alternative zu den heutigen kommerziellen Schwergewichten wie der Nero Suite an. Das Programm unterstützt derzeit 40 Sprachen.
Das Programm läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000, sowohl unter den 32Bit als auch den 64Bit Versionen.
Funktionsumfang:
Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images.
Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs.
Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods.
Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).
Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc).
Scan the SCSI/IDE bus for devices and collect information about their capabilities.
Create disc copies, on the fly and using a temporary disc image.
Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them.
Display disc information.
Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).

Version 0.51 is now released. This is a bug fix release which corrects various problems (some not documented in the change log). Maybe the most noticeable bug fix is the Windows 7 desktop icon problem.
