Christian Kindahl hat am Wochenende die Version 0.44 seines quelloffenen Brennprogramms InfraRecorder veröffentlicht. Es wurden vor allem Bugs beseitigt und kleinere Verbesserungen vorgenommen.
InfraRecorder bietet ähnlich wie Nero auch eine funktionsreduzierte Express-Version und ist in zahlreichen Sprachen erhältlich, darunter auch Deutsch. Dennoch ist es mit nur 2-3 MB sehr klein. Damit InfraRecorder MP3-Dateien verarbeiten kann, ist ein Plugin nötig, welches aus patentrechtlichen Gründen separat heruntergeladen werden muss. Neben der 32-Bit-Version gibt es von InfraRecorder auch eine für 64-Bit-Systeme und eine Portable-Edition für den Einsatz auf USB-Sticks.
