AMD Radeon HD 7750 bekommt zweite Version mit höherem Referenz-Takt

AMD Radeon Logo

Gaming Evolved
As for gaming, we have a bunch of new titles launching under the Gaming Evolved program. Probably the most prominent one is DiRT Showdown. The reason why we’re so excited about it is that this is the world’s first game title that’s been optimized for AMD’s Graphics Core Next architecture, bringing stunning visuals to life at high frame rates. With features like advance lighting, DirectCompute HDAO and contact hardening shadows, you’ll see that Showdown is the most visually immersive driving game in the market. As with the previous DiRT titles, Showdown has a built-in benchmark for quick and easy evaluation of settings and hardware. This game was launched a couple of days ago – definitely a consideration for updating your benchmark suite. Please note that a patch will be pushed out through STEAM very shortly that will add Global Illumination to the game, adding thousands of light sources, enhancing the already stunning visuals even further.

Two other titles are worthy of your attention: Sniper Elite V2 and Nexuiz. With similar implementations on the DirectCompute front as Showdown, these two games also have built-in benchmarks.

GPGPU
On another note, you’ve seen during your own evaluation how powerful GCN products are, not just in gaming, but on the compute front as well, soaring ahead of the competition. Of course benchmarks are one side of the coin, you have real world applications on the other, where end users really benefit. WinZip from Corel and PhotoShop CS6 from Adobe are prime examples of how today’s graphics cards can enhance and speed up your day to day compute tasks – WinZip by adding OpenCL based GPU acceleration to compression and encryption of files, making it run faster (exclusive to AMD), and CS6 by accelerating image editing tasks. Two more apps, Handbrake and GIMP, both of which are open source, will be enabled in the coming days for GPU acceleration – we encourage you to use these titles as they become available if you want to evaluate compute performance on GPUs. I’ll keep you posted on these.
