MSI bläst SiS 735 Mainboard ab?

Bisher sind die großen Fünf der Mainboard-Hersteller ihre SiS 735 Lösungen noch schuldig geblieben. MSI war mit dem K735 Pro eine der kommenden Speerspitzen der SiS-Flotte. Doch nachdem bereits erste Previews im Web herumgeisterten, folgt nun wie es scheint das plötzliche Aus. Das schreibt der MSI Support einem Leser:

Thank you very much for your support to MSI and also your patience to this product. Owing to some compatibility problems that can not be solved, we decided not to release this motherboard. The decision was based on our commitment to our valuable customers. MSI will never promote a motherboard without guaranteed guality.

I would like to recommend you the new version of KT266 Pro2 which is going to be released by the end of Sep. It is embeded with KT266A--enhanced KT266 chipset. If you don't want to buy a VIA product again, Intel 845 will be a good choice.--They will be launched on Sep. 10 (East Coast time, USA) However, they might be avaiable in the market already.

Nach offizieller Sprachregelung gab es mit dem SiS 735 also nicht zu lösende Kompatibilitäts-Probleme. Liest man den zweiten Absatz jedoch zwischen den Zeilen wird klar, welche Art von Kompatibilität hier wohl nicht zu gewährleisten war (wir berichteten) ...
