May 23, 2006, Taipei - AMD has finally unveiled its new platform, socket AM2, which is a 940-pin socket and has full support for DDR2 memory, bringing the speed of AMD platform to the next level. EPoX now launches its socket AM2 based mainboard, EP-MF570 SLI., using nVidia’s top of the range chipset, the nForce 570 SLI.

nVidia nForce 570 SLI with PCI-E x16 and x8 VGA slot

EP-MF570 SLI features support for DDR2 800 memory with a bandwidth of upto 6.4GB/s and a maximum 16GB memory capacity. For SLI mode, the driver can automatically detect for the cards present and there is no old school paddle card or jumpers that need to be changed. With one VGA card the setting will be x16 and x8, the left x8 slot can be used for other PCI-E cards or RAID devices. When 2 VGA cards are installed, it becomes x8 and x8 automatically. There are total of 8 SATA II connectors equipped with RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 and supporting NCQ functionality where 6 of them are from nForce 570 SLI chipset and the other 2 are from JMicron’s JMB363 which also supports eSATA. As nF570 SLI only supports one IDE interface, the Jmicron IC also provides another extra IDE interface to ensure the needs of users who are upgrading the system and still need to keep their IDE devices. A 7.1 channel high definition audio solution from Realtek, namely the ALC883 HD Codec is provided on this mainboard which supports up to 24 bit PCM audio playback providing the user with crystal clear digital surround sound and the ability to enjoy a total of 8 channels’ of audio power. Built in Dual Marvell 88E1116 gigabit LAN allows the PC to serve as a network gateway to balance the efficiency of data transfer and making it better suited for streaming multimedia from the internet and across the users network.

Reincarnate your PC with “Ghost BIOS”

Regardless of cost, EPoX has invented and developed the EP1308 SUPER I/O chip to support the new BIOS recovery function, “Ghost BIOS.” User won’t have to send their mainboards back for repair due to corrupted BIOS, just following the steps in the “Thunder Flash” utility their BIOS will be recovered and flashed to the latest BIOS version. Not only this, with EPoX’s special hardware features, a tremendous creative idea for LED debugging system called “LEDION” is also incorporated. It helps to debug when not being able to boot due to the CPU / PCI-E / DIMM slot. Another user friendly feature, “EZ Button”, helps power users to be able to switch on the board without any other cables and directly power on the board by button. Plus “Thunder Probe”, a hardware monitoring software that helps users to see voltage, temperature and speeds for a variety of hardware; “Smart Fan” , an intelligent fan speed controller to reduce fan noise; And also “Ghost Monitor”, a separate semi-transparent window for users to monitor the status of the system with ease in real time. With all those ultimate functions and abilities, EP-MF570 SLI has turned into a powerful and reliable monster board for all end users.
