AMD64 Logo Programm gestartet

AMD startete heute ein Logo-Programm für seine 64-bit Plattformen, um AMD64-konforme Hard- und Software zu kennzeichnen.<ul><i>SUNNYVALE, CA -- August 12, 2003 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today launched the AMD64 Logo Program to help consumers and IT decision makers identify hardware and software products ready for AMD64, a new class of computing technology that can run current and next-generation software on the same processor at the same time.

&#8220;The AMD64 Logo Program allows leading software and hardware developers to signify their support for the extraordinary value of simultaneous, native 32- and 64-bit computing on the AMD64 platform,&#8221; said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMD's Microprocessor Business Unit. &#8220;The AMD64 logo indicates that end users can continue using their software and hardware today and migrate to next-generation technology at their own pace.&#8221;

AMD64 is a new class of computing that directly follows the evolutionary path of the industry-standard x86 architecture. The AMD Opteron&#8482; processor, for servers and workstations, and the upcoming AMD Athlon&#8482; 64 processor, for desktop and mobile PCs, are the first AMD64 processors. By maintaining compatibility with today&#8217;s 32-bit solutions, AMD designed these processors to enable a seamless transition to pervasive 64-bit computing. For the first time, hardware and software developers can create a unified 32- and 64-bit computing infrastructure compatible with the x86 architecture.

&#8220;The AMD64 logo tells you that you're getting the best of both worlds,&#8221; said Tim Sweeney, founder and president of Epic Games. &#8220;Epic Games&#8217; port to AMD64 gives you the ability to run 64-bit applications that can take advantage of an incredible amount of memory, virtual address space, and double the number of registers of previous CPU's at the same time you get high-performance compatibility with existing 32-bit applications.&#8221;

AMD also introduced new logos for its AMD64 processors, the AMD Opteron processor for servers and workstations and the upcoming AMD Athlon 64 processor for desktop and mobile computing. Both processors deliver outstanding performance on today&#8217;s 32-bit software while running more advanced 64-bit software.

Hmh, jup, die Logos sehen recht gut aus! Schade bekommen die Mobile 64biter keine eigenen Logos (ein M statt des FX, wie beim Fünfium M )

das mit dem FX habe ich auch gesehen, aber eben NUR beim Inquirer.

Ich finde die Logos übrigens hässlich

Ich muss sagen die alten haben mir besser gefallen, die neues wirken so aufgeblasen!

Also ich find das Logo recht gelungen.
Netter Style finde ich.
Etwas "aufgeblasenes" konnte ich nicht entdecken.

Bah, die sind potthässlich!
Sehen ja fast so aus wie Intels P4 Logo, vor allem wegen dem orangen beim "Athlon" Logo!

Also so schlimm finde ich die Logos nicht. Das Orange beim Athlon 64 ist zwar nicht so das Wahre, aber die anderen zwei kann man lassen.

mir gefallen die logos eigentlich ganz gut.Das orange erinnert zwar an den P4 aber passt trotzdem ganz gut.Is halt geschmackssache

Über Geschmack kann man sich streiten, oder es einfach lassen, ich lass es 8) Aber im Endeffekt ist es doch ziemlich egal, wie die Logos aussehen: Was dir Produkte leisten ist entscheident! Ihr werdet ja wohl kaum ein Produkt erwerben, nur weil es ein cooles logo hat, oder? 8)

Wie auch immer: Die Logos hätten sicher besser ausfallen können, aber auch schlechter! Ich bin zumindest jetzt gespannt, was uns am 22. September dieses Jahres in Form des Athlon64 (FX,M,DP,XP... ) erwartet! Und AMD, bitte enttäusche uns nicht, sonst

Seh ich ganz genau so, aber wenn die Leistung stimmt dann kann man AMD diesen Fehler verzeihen!

Also ich kann diesem schwarzen "Beerdigungslook" der Logos nichts abgewinnen...ein kleiner Farbverlauf, z.B. ins Blaue, würde schon Wunder bewirken.

Naja, wenn dafür der A64 mit 2,2 GHz gelaunched wird, verzeihe ich AMD diesen Missgriff

nene, blau steht für langsam, monopol und chipsätze wovon jeder 2. nicht zugeberauchen ist

bei den geschwungenen linien muss ich irgendwie an das logo hier denken:

Da ich in der grafischen Branche tätig bin, habe ich natürlich auch mit Interesse die neuen Logos erwartet.

Aus dieser Sicht ist die schwarze Grundfarbe natürlich äusserst schlecht, da sie eher für Negatives steht.
Die runden Bögen hingegen wirken eher dynamisch.

Ich habe mir mal genehmigt, das Logo umzufärben.
Denn mit weisser Grundfarbe sieht das gar nimmer so übel aus:

ja das sieht schon besser aus aber jetzt wirk es irgend wie etwas leer

da müsste jetzt noch irgend wie ein Rahmen drumm und als hintergrundfarbe würde ich glänzendes silber noch besser finden !

Einen Rahmen drum hatte ich zu Beginn, aber irgendwie sah das nicht so überzeugend aus. Und schliesslich möchten sich Athlon64-User ja nich "in einem beschränkenden Rahmen bewegen".

Ein silberner Hintergrund wäre sicher edel, aber da kann es all zu schnell passieren, das silber wie grau aussieht.

vielleicht sollte der rahmen auch so ein bisschen schwung haben

und grau darf es natürlich auf kienen fall aussehen

ich finde nvidia bekommt das mit dem silber gut hin bei ihren logos

Also, ich find schwarz attraktiv

Mir gefallen die Logos auch nicht besonders. Snoopy's Redesign passt schon wesentlich besser. Aber insgesamt finde ich ist die 64 zu fett/groß: Die Absicht dahinter ist klar, die 64 Bit sollen in den Vordergrund des Marketing.
Das Orange finde ich eigentlich schön, allerdings fehlt dem Logo klar das AMD grün. Da fühle ich mich auf P3D wohler
